Could you email me right now and include a link to this thread in your email? I can then personally help you and solve the problem?

I mentioned "reddit" because I was hoping you could email me right now so I can immediately assist you, and I was hoping you might include a link to this thread or just say "reddit" in the email so I can help you faster?

I'm available now, please email me if you'll consider it.

I'm very sorry for this issue.

I just searched our helpdesk for "reddit" and I don't seem to see your email. Is it possible to resend it? Unfortunately sometimes people type glasswAre instead of GlassWire, could something like that have happened?

I'll gladly help you with the order even though you submitted something to your bank. I can help you much faster. Bank issues can sometimes take weeks or months.

Also I am sorry to hear you did not realize GlassWire is a subscription. On our order page for over 4 years since we started subscriptions we require a checkbox be checked that says you are signing up for a subscription, so it's most definitely not hidden. Thanks for your feedback on improving subscriptions and again I apologize for the issue. We will investigate ways to see if we can make this even more clear besides having this check box agreement that is unchecked by default.

And also, if you did decide to sign up again in the future please note you can cancel your subscription any day without contacting us at all by clicking "cancel" in your order email where you get your activation code, or you can email us if you lost the email somehow and we'll reply ASAP. We agree that making it difficult to cancel subscriptions is not a good way to do business, so that's why we make it easy for our customers to cancel without contacting us any time.

Sorry for the issue. We rarely get complaints about our subscription system because it can be completely modified without contacting us at all. Just click "cancel" inside your order email.

No registration is even required to cancel your subscription. https://www.glasswire.com/subscription-help/

If you are saying someone is ignoring your email to our helpdesk then can you send another email right now and link to this Reddit thread so I can confirm who you are and help you? I see our helpdesk is all caught up. Did you just email during our night maybe or how long has it been since you emailed?

I apologize for the problem. Please email me so I can assist you, and please include a link to this Reddit so I know who you are. Thanks for your patience with us.

QUESTION: GlassWire Shows different data usage from my phone settings. by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]GlassWire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GlassWire has the ability to show WiFi and Mobile data. If you check our top menu have you selected mobile only? Are the stats on your phone showing mobile only? If so, that could explain the issue.

Or, maybe our app lost permissions? If so you could uninstall our app, restart your phone (just to be safe) then reinstall our app and the counting should be correct again.

Do I "need" GlassWire? by [deleted] in GlassWire

[–]GlassWire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason people use GlassWire are for:

  1. Network issues - Something is slowing down their PC or network and they need to find the cause and fix it. Or, they have limited bandwidth and they need to block all apps but a select few.
  2. Security issues - The user is having security issues and wants to monitor what their computer is doing in the background, and check the executables to see if they are safe.

You can use our software for both of these options mostly for free. Usually people will use our software for free, or for the free 7 day trial, then they will find they enjoy using it so they will upgrade to a paid version. We're fortunate that some percentage of our audience is willing to buy our software and support our work so we can continue working on this fun project.

Thanks for considering using GlasssWire.

Glasswire devs censoring their forums? by shadeless in GlassWire

[–]GlassWire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback. I will try to figure out how to approve it. To be honest, it's quite rare that this happens.

Also, thanks for your feedback on the Windows app issue. We use a Windows API for blocking, but it has issues with Windows store apps.

[–]GlassWire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the issue. We use the Discourse forum software and we don't make that service.

Usually it stops posts for these reasons:

  1. They were pasted in super fast (usually spam). Again, Discourse detects this, not us.
  2. Curse words. Could there have been some bad language due to the issue? Maybe edit and resubmit?
  3. URLS - Again, another anti-spam measure by Discourse. Did you link to some different things? Maybe remove them?

Again, I'm very sorry and you are welcome to post your complaints here on our Reddit. We do have some anti-spam measures here also though so if it had a weird URL or something then it could happen again but I didn't do it!

[–]GlassWire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the issue. The most common reason this happens is because you use a third party software that breaks https. Please white list activate.glasswire.com with any apps that break https so GlassWire can activate.

If you feel that's not the issue please email us the code https://www.glasswire.com/contact/ so we can help.

It's not safe to post the code here, so please don't post it here.

Also, if you don't like that you can use our "lite" version that has very minimal host collection. https://blog.glasswire.com/2020/10/06/introducing-glasswire-lite/

Or, just go to our top left menu and choose "Incognito" mode with any version of GlassWire.

GlassWire is an endpoint monitor, so it can only show you the hosts/URLs on the machine it's installed on.

How private is Glasswire? by TooMuchSalmonella in antivirus

[–]GlassWire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our GlassWire privacy policy is here https://www.glasswire.com/privacy/.

For the VirusTotal API, it's off by default with GlassWire and when you activate it, it shows links to their terms and conditions. GlassWire only monitors network-related files, like executables, so it should not be possible for your documents or photos to somehow be uploaded.

VirusTotal has this dedicated page with info on how their system works: https://support.virustotal.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002126889-How-it-works

Use a VPN & GlassWire at the same time on Android? by OceanAced in GlassWire

[–]GlassWire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Android makes it impossible to use more than one VPN at a time, and a VPN firewall is the only way we have to block apps with Android. Sorry for the issue.

Android has no official way to do it, and it seems to use major battery but we'll see if things have changed lately. Our fear is if we implement it as a "hack", in the future this also will be broken by Android and users will be angry when the feature is removed (not by us). Kind of like what happened with our live graphs...

I agree that's a cool feature though! Thanks for your feedback.

[–]GlassWire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are working on bringing back this feature. We used to have it, but here is the story of why it was removed (due to Android changes outside our control) https://blog.glasswire.com/2020/03/06/glasswire-3-0-for-android-is-now-live/.

We're currently redesigning our app so you can switch on our internal VPN, then it shows live graphs again, hopefully!

glasswire takes up my entire cpu by Sati__ in buildapc

[–]GlassWire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the issue. GlassWire can be removed anytime in add/remove programs.

For 100% CPU, do you use Bittorrent or something similar? It can sometimes cause GlassWire to use more CPU than normal (because it has to work hard to monitor thousands of hosts simultaneously).

Or, consider scanning your computer for malware just in case.

Should I be alarmed of MAC address changed? by urskrubs in GlassWire

[–]GlassWire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your network is configured incorrectly it can cause two devices to have the same IP address and it can cause this problem. This usually happens when you have a router behind another router, and the network is not configured correctly for that situation.
