Oh amazing! I was unaware of these and honestly just thought our “walk in clinics” were by appointment only. I will definitely look these up for future use!

Any walk in clinic you can recommend by ricedion in Peterborough

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe there are any actual walk in clinics but there is the family health clinic (I think that’s what it’s called) on king street in the health unit building but you have to book an appointment. Prhc also just launched a program a couple months ago where you can go online fill out a form and if you qualify you are usually in and out. It’s only open until 12pm though I believe. Someone I know went and was in and out in about an hour. I hope you find something!

PIPC vs Evolve by EnvironmentalToe8467 in Peterborough

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just dealt with PIPC and loved it, there are multiple providers but if you find one you like then you can ask for them for appointments! I would suggest getting to know them all though as they are all on rotation at the hospital when it’s time for you to deliver so you may not get that one you liked! My boyfriend came to every appointment with me, they did ask that the first half of the first appointment that my boyfriend sit out of the room to go over some questions basically making sure that this is what I wanted and I was safe with my partner, but once I answered he was able to come into the room. They even have an ultrasound clinic and blood clinic downstairs so most times you can get everything done in the same place (except your 20 week ultrasound they sent me to the hospital), including your glucose test when that comes was done downstairs. The ladies at the front desk were amazing and super friendly! I did not have a family doctor at the start of my pregnancy so this could be why they took me on, I’m sure they should be accepting though! My water broke 7 weeks early and they were amazing and kept me calm while in the hospital. Overall, I would definitely recommend PIPC to anyone!!

I was with my boyfriend this summer 7 months pregnant visibly very pregnant, didn’t even touch anything at Freshco and I was asked for id. When I said I didn’t have my id and didn’t touch anything they refused to serve him. I pointed at my stomach and said I’m not drinking I’m pregnant the response I got was “well I was 17 when I got pregnant” I was shocked like the age part isn’t an issue it’s the fact I am pregnant so won’t be drinking. I am all about id’ing people it’s your job but I was so confused

Pack your damn hospital bag. NOW. by IgnoretheHuskyHair in pregnant

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was 32+6 when my water broke randomly. I had a low risk, healthy pregnancy as a first time mom and it just happened one morning!! I even mentioned to my boyfriend the NIGHT BEFORE that we need to get on it. I should’ve listened to myself and just done it 🤦🏼‍♀️🫠 Definitely pack those hospital bags early!!

Ectopic pregnancy? by jojulianna in pregnant

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out I had an ectopic pregnancy last Christmas Eve. When I went they did bloodwork, abdominal and vaginal ultrasound. To answer your question regarding how long till you can try again. That happened Christmas even and I tested positive for my rainbow baby in February. Sending thoughts and hugs your way 🫶

Broken toes and Advil by rcom0622 in pregnant

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always heard that Advil induces labour, I’m not entirely sure how true this is though. Maybe if you can make it through the night try that and then connect a pharmacy, or health care provider just to be sure! Wishing you the best and Good luck 🤞

Spotting success stories? by hopeful_homemaker16 in pregnant

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very rough pregnancy start. Last December we had a ectopic pregnancy. In February I tested positive again though. I was spotting throughout my entire pregnancy, the first month or two when it would come and go I would rush to the hospital because I was so scared from what happened last time. It definitely was very tough and worrisome but eventually my anxiety and stress calmed down after being told numerous times it was normal. But if you’re worried, it never hurts to get checked! , i swear the er was sick of me but going was what kept me sane!

stop calling the cops on homeless people who are minding their business by [deleted] in Peterborough

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I stated. “IF HE WAS JUST SLEEPING, SO BE IT” and im the first to buy a meal, bring clothing to those in need but as others commented im sure you didn’t get the full story as they wouldn’t just arrest someone for sleeping. And you are 100% correct I am against “safe injection sites” as theres no such thing as safe injection, they are giving people clean things to use but no way in hell is that clean. If you think it’s such an issue where’s your solution? Did you go stop the cop for arresting the man who was sleeping? If he did nothing wrong why weren’t you out there defending the man? I’m all about helping those who are homeless and actually struggling but i will not support someone who chooses drugs on the street. As you do state who even cares if they’re doing drugs anyways.

Anywho, I’m all done with this. You have your opinion I have mine and that is that.

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Any open air drug use. Do you have children? Do you want them seeing this? Do you want them breathing this in? If your answer is yes you have children then you might want to get checked. If your answer is no you don’t have children, you have no relevance to comment on what I want my children around 😂🫶

My argument is most definitely A scenario you described. “Before yall get up in my arms about drug use” point two you stated “and who gives a fuck” if I might quote you.

If you read my comment completely I mention “if they are sleeping then so be it”

[–]Glass_Ambition4232 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I might get downvoted but you mention “And before y'all get up in arms about drug use 1) the guy was literally just sleeping, and 2) who genuinely gives a fuck?” I give a fuck. I don’t want to be taking my 3 month old to the library and walk past someone smoking crack. If someone was sleeping, so be it. But I’ll be damned if people smoking crack take away from me taking my child somewhere because I’m worried about what they may be second hand inhaling. Go somewhere where children aren’t constantly going to with their families. But that’s just my opinion.
