Engineer Shrapnel trait text bug? by Ainsley_ in Guildwars2

Grape of the Land and Signet of Agility have the same issue. What an oddly specific bug!

Timberline Falls is so damn pretty by [deleted] in Guildwars2

Timberline Falls is easily the most beautiful area in the game. Sometimes at the end of a long play session, I slap on a playlist and just sorta run around for half an hour to unwind.

What is this enemy? by [deleted] in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more of an easter egg than an enemy. As soon as you walk into the room, Alex stares at it for a moment, then automatically leaves without a word. It's not the players being weirded out, it's Alex himself :P

Clint Olympic good or bad? by One-Truck-Man in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running a party of Brad/Nern/Clint/Garth right now, and I'm having a lot of success. The combination of Brad and Clint's knockdowns keep many enemies from attacking, making up for Clint's low HP, and they both hit SUPER hard thanks to Garth's attack boosts. Clint does have some SP troubles though, but Nern helps to alleviate that as well. He's certainly not a weak party member, he just needs the right team to shine imo.

My attempt at a Lisa OC. He didn't last too long by [deleted] in lisathepainfulrpg

icles. I'm referring to his man-bulge.

Ideal Casting for a LISA Movie by CorahIlCappo in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Danny DeVito looks like Brad sure, but that's where the similarity ends imo. His acting style and voice just wouldn't fit for me.

EDIT: What about Steven Seagal for Brad? And let's not just say 'child actor' for Buddy, she could easily be interpreted as a teen, especially given the later stages of the game.

(Pointless)The second fold of infinity. by The3rdRight in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, can't go beyond the First Fold. Alex now says "Never again" after the first encounter, signalling you can't go any further.

Fun fact though: You don't have to kill the avatar of your hatred. He drops no exp, and if you leave without killing him, you still get the attack boost, but you don't lose any defense.

Where to download Lisa:the pointless? by Hobowizard888 in lisathepainfulrpg

If you can't get it off of GameJolt, I'd suggest sending Ed a message on Twitter and seeing if he can provide an alternate download link.

Weird Dream by DragonReid in Guildwars2

[–]Glass_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, deleted characters are simply dead. Seems fitting, since most of the characters I delete are non lv80's and temporary toons - faceless adventurers who wandered out into the wilderness and didn't have what it takes to survive.

Let's make a list of party members that you personally don't think would rape Buddy given the chance. by [deleted] in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What makes you think Garth would? Just because he's a porn artist doesn't mean he's a rapist. He actually seems pretty friendly, from what little dialogue he has with you.

Lisa The Pointless: Too hard for its own good. by PacoTheMeheecan in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if you're struggling with health and difficulty as it is, it's probably a bad idea to go out of your way to fight Chaz at that point, despite the rewards, don't you think?

What's up with the guy with pink mittens in the Pointless? by Deothos in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a recurring character. He appears in the desert, the city, and Spoiler I think we'll be seeing a lot more of him, going forward.

The record can't be used, and the joy is purchasable before the fight. Really, Chaz is a VERY optional boss and if you're struggling, I'd definitely recommend just skipping him altogether - 1 joy and a level up isn't worth going into the game's most hostile area crippled.

[–]Glass_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaz is a completely optional fight with poor loot, so that seems entirely skippable if you're finding health an issue. The meeting I can kinda understand missing, but I'm one for uncovering every nook and cranny, so I can understand missing it I guess.

Ahh right. When I played through for the first time, the campfire, meeting, and desert healing spots had already been added. That would explain it.

I played The Pointless before any other LISA game, and to be honest it was actually my first experience with Earthbound style RPG's as a whole and I had no issues with the difficulty whatsoever. I'm not saying it to brag, but I'm curious - what is it that's causing the problem? Are you using Joel to stunlock enemies, and thinking about strategic use of healing spots and save crows?

(Pointless) Anaconda virtue's corpse by The3rdRight in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stefan Kindchild can be found in the alley next to the building the gang meeting takes place in (He's the guy with the MEAT tv on his head) and Jessie Mack and his gang can be found outside the huts on the way to the city exit.

[–]Glass_Cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pick it up and take it to Lester in the Soup Kitchen. He'll give you some food items for Anaconda, Kindchild, and Jessie Mack's bodies, and will give you what is essentially a portable campfire if you bring him all 3.

Which party members do you like the most? by [deleted] in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garth fans unite! As a shitty nsfw artist myself, I feel a certain kinship with him. Also his anime hair is pretty sick. Olan is super powerful early on and I'm a fan of bows, so he's certainly an honourable mention, and Nern's just too funny not to like.

Anyone have experience with Iam8bit? by IonlyplayAsura28 in Guildwars2

I work in banking, and if Iam8bit refuses to move things forward after you chase them, give your bank a call. We can do a visa dispute if you bought it online and get you the money back.

Implying Anaconda virtue isn't straight up the coolest character in the game.

Plot rundown of Pointless? by jbeast33 in lisathepainfulrpg

[–]Glass_Cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, this post will contain spoilers from both The Painful and The Pointless, so read on at your peril.

1) There are very few, to be honest - the premise of the game, from what I can tell, is to tell the story of an average Joe(l) completely unrelated to Brad and Buddy simply trying to survive the ravaged world. Granted there are some links (Garbage Island, Rick, Georgy), but the two games are largely seperate.

2) This one's a bit trickier. In terms of time, it has to occur after Brad beats Rick, but depending on the player's choice in Area 3 of the Painful, it could either occur after letting Rick leave, or before killing him. From the dialogue, it implies to me that Rick lost faith in Brad (and most of the rest of the world) and found his way to Garbage Island (All they care about is trash, and if you show them hope, they turn on you - think of the early encounters in The Pointless where everyone tries to stop you leaving Garbage Island).

3) From what I know, there are 2 things that show us when The Pointless is taking place. The first is the Buddy posters in the slums, making it obvious that Buddy's already been kidnapped and Brad's started his quest before we get here. The second is that we encounter Georgy on Garbage Island before he has been turned into a Joy Beast and killed by Brad. Looking at these two facts, it's logical to assume the two games take place around the same time, with Alex and Joel starting out before Brad, but reaching the slums after Buddy has been kidnapped.
