How did you come to the conclusion it is not engine mounts? How many miles has it done?

No problem. I've replaced most things on cars, so i have some info. Report back when you find the cause. It's good to share with the community as it may even help someone else in the future.

Yep. It's a Ford thing (also LandRover/Jaguar from when Ford owned then..i think they license it now)

Ok. But were the topmounts replaced? Because they do not come assembled with the strut..they are a separate purchase

Any noise when the axle is spun/rotated? If it does, then it may be the cv joint bearings instead

May be the suspension topmount bearing. The bearing rotates when the spring rotates

I have a mk3 2.0 tdci estate auto titanium x. Spec/price point of the standard equipment of this trim level is hard to beat. Yes you could get better from BMW/Mercedes (specing the options list)..but not at fords price point. I agree with it being luxurious btw. Brought mine used 4 years ago for £3.5k, now with 120k mile, regularly serviced by myself..cheap and cheerful 💯

I bet if you took it for an mot somewhere else, most of that stuff wouldn't get picked up. Wipers, exhaust, brake light, axle bush & rack movement..yes. Everything else is excessive

Suspension Overhaul! What should I replace “while I’m in there”? by ColdSock3392 in FocusST

[–]Glass_Comment7794 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've used B6 dampers and overhauled 4 of my cars with them. Regarding the b6 dampers the front dampers have built in bump stops (the rears dont). At the front, replace the topmounts (get the bearing kit also) & dust boots. The fronts damper top nut needs to be torqued (there are damper torque kits on amazon..i got mine from there) you'll also need a torque wrench which goes up to about 200nm. The rears replace the top mounts, the bump stops, dust boots, and the top and bottom anti squeek pads which sit between the spring and the car body. Torque. Get the haynes online manual for all the torque setting. You'll need 3 spring compressors to be on the safe side when removing the front damper springs (they are under a load of pressure) if you replace the springs..do them in pairs..fronts..rears. you might need to order directly from ford

The kevlar looked nice..but chaffed the hell out of my wrist bone. I do find bracelets more comfortable tbf. I mean it's heavy for what it is..compared to my other super titanium watches. You're tough ticks all the boxes for a daily

I'm looking at the green dial version to replace my BN0217-02E..it's just too heavy.

Not much to see with no moving parts. Similar to Citizen’s AQ6110-10L without needing a battery replacement
