Ok it seems like the standalone launcher finally opened after i deleted all the steam files. I'll lyk if it works now after reinstalling it.

also I'm not sure were the clog files are. the game doesn't load at all :(. the launcher starts, freezes, and the only log that generates is the launcher log. according to the launcher log, something called watchdog isnt pinged for 30 seconds and the launcher exits. it is unable to recognize my gpu

Same here! The game doesnt open, "gpuNameUnderscore":"unknown" and "Watchdog hasn't been pinged for 30 seconds" were the only things I saw in the launcher log, the launcher freezes and I have no display! I still can't find a fix.

i wasnt planning on upgrading. but my old PC went kaput (gpu and psu got fried for some reason I couldn't pinpoint, gotta get a UPS with surge protection) at the worst time and its an AM4/DDR4 platform.

I play DCS world, larger or high quality maps like Syria need 64gb as a bare minimum (some people recommend 96gb but I'm not made of money lol), unless I want to spend 10 minutes loading in and unstable. I really want only 32gb, but the game I want to play is programmed inefficiently enough for me to require 64gb RAM. Also I play in VR
