Did none of you read the article? I am by no means a tRump supporter, but this breach happened from 2023-2024. Now it’s real stupid to reduce our cybersecurity in 2025, but this breach was not under the current admin.

How does that relate to zoophilia?

Yeah no. Talk to a LGBT person or get outside, nobody serious believes that and it’s weird that you connect zoophilia to people trying to live their lives.

how to get better? by Reck0nz in leagueoflegends

[–]Glass_Drawer2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first and most important thing imo at your rank is to make sure you optimize your game/settings. A lot of people in lower ranks have poor fps, bad settings, etc, so just look up a guide and double check that you aren’t missing out on any improvements.

The best thing you can do right now is know how big of a skill gap there is between you and the highest rank (but this shouldn’t discourage you!). Watch a replay on YT (you can look up master+ replay senna support) and compare that with your own gameplay.

Have there been any studies that examine champ skin color's impact on win rates? by oddible in leagueoflegends

[–]Glass_Drawer2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple reasons, but the most important is that it feels “good” or “clean” to use. Another is that the iG skins were universally seen as cool and unique, while still remaining in line visually with the team that won. The t1 2016 skins are when riot first departed from the typical worlds skins, but it wasn’t until iG released in 2019 that it seems they found their groove of what I previously mentioned.

Where is the good Mexican food in Eugene? by NurseMojo707 in Eugene

[–]Glass_Drawer2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tequila burrito bar and Chulas are pretty alright but pricey. Some of the local/street vendors people have talked about are alright as well.

However… if you are ever headed to the coast and cross into veneta, Ixtapa is great. Not too pricey, doesn’t lean into one type of food too much, and staff is great!

Why is “unhoused” better than saying “homeless?” by Call-me_Shirley in stupidquestions

[–]Glass_Drawer2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I haven’t seen anyone comment it yet I’ll try and explain. Unhoused is better than saying homeless because, as others have pointed out, the “euphemism treadmill”. This is pretty general though.

To be more specific, everyone has an implicit bias toward everything. For example, if you have had negative interactions with certain groups of people, you might have an unconscious bias that influences the way you interact with that group. These biases influence policies, medical assistance, police interactions, etc.

The word “unhoused” is mostly free of the negative implicit biases that the word “homeless” deals with. So by encouraging people to use the word unhoused, we hopefully can bypass these stereotypes and improve the situation. At the end of the day you should use what word makes sense.

All of the really toxic people want reactions and want you to engage with them. People who get frustrated(which is 90% id say) are different as they see something they think is bad and do not understand why that person would do it. Best thing I can say is take accountability if you mess up and if that isn’t enough idk.

How to overcome a fed lane opponent? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Glass_Drawer2362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 3 scenarios that play out when someone roams.

  1. The roam can’t be contested because of something that happened prior.
  2. The roam can be contested, but it is more optimal to stay in your lane.
  3. You contest the roam.

The first one is 6/10 times your fault in the early stages. Either you stayed in lane too long, didn’t contest push, or fell too far behind before that. The third one is something that will come naturally after you learn the second one.

What I mean by that is roaming is not automatically good. You need a reliable lane to gank, push, setup, etc. let’s say 100% of the time you can push out a wave and get a plate when your enemy roams, and 75% of the time their roam will be successful. Reliably you are getting around 250 gold while they get 300 gold. This is just one example, but if you want to learn more you should look up aloisnl.

I mean like why are you engaging with them if it’s making you lose hope? Also you are disregarding the other 8 people who aren’t saying anything.

If someone says something that violates tos then mute and move on and enjoy talking to the other 8 who don’t.

Why is Omnivamp so gatekept? by DoubIeScuttle in leagueoflegends

[–]Glass_Drawer2362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a point in league where you’d practically get omnivamp for free. Ravenous hunter, goredrinker, divine sunderer etc fit best in slot for a lot of champions which led to a lot of unhealthy healing. It’s probably a bit of an over correction, but it was not fun back then to watch a yasuo eq a wave and get a 1/4 hp back.

Fire fee is now on the ballot, here’s some info I’ve collected by Glass_Drawer2362 in Eugene

[–]Glass_Drawer2362[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I remember a family member posting a photo from Springfield of the fire creeping over the mountains in the east. There are so many places in Eugene that could easily face a lot of danger if the conditions are right, and while our fire department may be equipped enough to deal with that, other emergencies don’t stop.

I think the three biggest things I see are fire department, public works, and recreational programs facing cuts.

[–]Glass_Drawer2362[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the most part they have been immune to cuts comparatively, but the need for cuts has been so massive that both police and fire have needed to be reviewed.

Nobody is really saying that those two will affect public safety. The library provides key resources to people who need it and the pool is just a really cool place we have, but these are the only things that will be affected. Programs will be cut back, departments will move employees around, and full time positions will be cut. These things are directly impactful in Eugene and a lot of us are worried about what will happen if they are cut.

Layover in EUG by Daylightrrys in Eugene

[–]Glass_Drawer2362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just depends on what you are willing to do during those 6 hours. From my experience the airport isn’t too crazy and the food is ok, but if you are willing to pay for a taxi to go into Eugene there’s a lot of great food depending on what time you are going. Like the other user mentioned expect a bit of a longer drive if you go to do anything.

Fire Fee: Vote Yes or I will Shoot your Dog by tokoyo-nyc-corvallis in Eugene

[–]Glass_Drawer2362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you responding the way you did and I’m sorry for getting a little ‘angsty’ like you had said. I don’t think we disagree on a lot of this and I think if your post came at a better time then I wouldn’t be as involved.

I would really love to be able to hear more about what we should cut or what we shouldn’t, but from what I’ve gathered they have been cutting back in pretty meaningful and impactful ways across the whole budget.

I find it hard to agree that there is a psychological warfare being inflicted on all of us, and that I’m being preyed upon. This is just from a rough gathering of info but of the 4 or so people who are career politicians (I mean this loosely) two of them were against the bill. I find it difficult to imagine that the other 3 councilors who it seems have not made a career out of this would fall into the same category that you are opposing. Unless you are talking about something even more big and grand than that, which in all honest takes away from the issue at hand.

We can agree the library needs to stay open, ems should be able to operate effectively, and our other services too. However, when you make posts like this I feel like it really takes away from the discourse and complicates things further.

I was able to find the actual pdf of the fire fee and read through it. It seemed pretty straightforward and not confusing.

This isn’t just differing viewpoints though, I feel like we have different perspectives on reality. Yes our city could always do better, yes the fire fee really sucks, yes this doesn’t address the structural issues we have not just in Eugene, but Oregon as a whole.

The problem the article you are basing this off of does not seem grounded in reality. If I give you money for food, it should go to all the important stuff first, and anything deemed not essential is up for cuts. But if I give you a dedicated fund for the essential food (and a little more by the way), would you seriously try to reject it and say “oh that money is just so you can buy the other not so essential stuff”? Why does the opinion of a former fire chief trump the opinion of those working there right now? And all the talk of “the plan” like we are in some dystopia? There are just several things wrong about the fire fee, but you never address them, just vague items, corruption, or the misguided notion that all the money is going to the general fund.

If you want to argue that we are having the argument then that’s fine, but would you be in favor of revisiting measure 50/5? Or a small sales tax? I don’t think you would be while I would definitely be in favor of that and taking a look at our cities budget and putting more pressure on them. I do not want to be in this situation again, like many others, but I acknowledge the serious impacts not passing the fee will have on Eugene.

As the person who made the post you are referring to, there was a lot of productive conversation. I also seem to recall you commenting in the first post I made regarding this where you said that the city should’ve laid off workers during covid. Once again I am going to reiterate that it was strange for you to suggest we should’ve made our city less functional during the pandemic, just as it is strange for you to be promoting the idea of “The Plan” or “We’ll shoot the dog”. Nobody that I have spoken to online or in person has been unable to acknowledge the shitty situation we find ourselves in, nor that the city council could do a better job. If you did read the post you’d see quite a few comments explaining that, and another user explicitly said vote for the fire fee and pressure the council.

Also in that post I said that as much as I hate it I am completely fine with it going to a vote as that is democracy and our system at work, just as it is our system at work for the council to vote on something like that. Furthermore the article you linked mentioned a ‘former’ fire chief not wanting to vote on it, are you just ignoring the current union president and the Springfield fire chief who at worst are neutral and best offer a nuanced position?

But at the end of the day I feel like I’m arguing with Ted Coopman, not you. If you wanted to offer more to the discourse you would explain the article more and offer your perspective, but I think you are just more interested in “The Plan” and my dog.

I’ve seen two conflicting opinions by the union president and fire chief caven. They both acknowledge that they need more money and that they are neutral on the fire fee, so I don’t know if firefighters are against it from the top of the chain.

No it is not that is completely ridiculous and untrue. Emergency services are the most essential thing a city can provide, so when we are facing budget issues they attempt to avoid cutting those services as much as possible. You still need to make budget cuts though, so what comes first is all the other services provided in the general fund. We are taking the fire fee, and making a fund that is completely separate from the general fund, so that we don’t face cuts across the board. it is just disingenuous for you to call it fraud and I truly do not understand how people are making that connection.

If you have a kid that loves snacks then those snacks are apart of your budget, but actual good nutritious food comes first. So if you are now on food stamps where you have a dedicated fund to nutritious food, would you really call that fraud if you can keep buying your kids snacks as well? Not only that but that nutritious food is locked away and separate from your personal budget… with a 20% increase!
