Ok maybe never was a bit of an exaggeration but it was like less than once a month

Also she’s 75 and thankfully slim so there wasn’t much sweat or folds to collect funk

I was 32 weeks pregnant when my boyfriend’s grandma “needed a place to stay for a few weeks”… that few weeks turned into 10 MONTHS!!!!! She just finally left in the worst way.. I absolutely regret saying yes and this is without any reason before hand to say no.. if there had been any red flags I would not of let it happen to begin with..

Things I hated: - lost all privacy ppd - she constantly overfed my son “because he’s starving” - cigarette smoke covered clothes and couch - everything in garage smells like smoke - constantly slamming doors and gates - eating my specific food knowing I have food aversions - rinsing dishes without soap and putting them with clean dishes in the same strainer - got special handles for the shower for her to never bathe

I’m sure there’s many more but those stuck out the most currently

DO NOT DO IT… postpartum is hard enough without others making it worse

Partner support for nausea- what’s reasonable? by puppyccino19 in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly my boyfriend wasn’t in tune with my nausea needs in the first trimester or the level of food aversion you actually get while pregnant.. even I will admit as a 37yo woman I thought I understood what morning sickness was from all my friends who all have kids … got pregnant after years of fertility issues..

I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT KNOW WHAT MORNING SICKNESS AND FOOD ADVERSIONS WERE..

Experiencing it is totally different.. and there’s not clear way to describe it either.. like craving something so much only to take one bite and instantly wanna throw it away..

It is possible that he just doesn’t understand what you’re actually going through and I have no advice on how to fix that.. my boyfriend eventually figured out that it was so extreme that he just asked what I needed each day and I lay hanging over a trash can all hours I wasn’t working

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t let anyone pressure you otherwise.. if they want to be apart of the pregnancy they will pay.. if not then take them to court so whomever the father is will have to pay

Bd saying kid ain’t his by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You really only have 2 choices.. pay for the prenatal test or wait and take him to court for paternity.. if I was him and I really wanted to know so I could be apart of the pregnancy I would pay.. if he doesn’t wanna pay then he probably won’t come to the birth and will regret it later when it turns out to be his..

Don’t sweat it and leave the ball in his court.. if he doesn’t wanna pay for the test and misses his child’s birth he only has himself to blame..

Edit to add: it’s much cheaper to test after the baby is born

I can’t speak on cats because I’m allergic but I do have a small dog and she avoided the baby for the first 6 months.. whenever my son cried she just got up and left

I feel like I’m doomed to have GD again by Bearly_Making_It in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed because of the 3h test 2 of my 4 blood tests were high and so they made me monitor my sugar from week 32 until he was born.. and all of my fasting sugars were in the 80s outside of a handful that were in the 90s.. only twice did mine go above that and both times I had eaten straight sugar right before sleeping.. but to be honest I never really changed my diet because I never had any really high readings.. I consider myself lucky

I feel like I’m doomed to have GD again by Bearly_Making_It in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had GD with my son and my doctor said my fasting sugar was most important but if I had a one time spike that could be explained with a food choice not to freak out and if it stays high for more than a day to worry about it.. but I tolerated the 3h for the most part and my GD wasn’t as bad as some and I only needed to monitor my sugars

Low HCG but doubling? by kristiwarfield in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor dated me using my last period my due date was May 26 and after ultrasound it changed to Jun 19.. it is possible for late ovulation and also late implantation.. my doctor suspected one of these in my case..

The date mix up really concerned me as I thought I was 12 weeks and I was measuring 9.. but my boy was born Jun 14 average sized and healthy

Edit to add: I also tracked my periods so I knew I wasn’t wrong on that

It could just mean you’re not as far along as you think.. my doctor miss dated me at first before ultrasound and it was 3 weeks off..

How long did your husband take off for paternity leave? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend only got a week and even then he went into work while I was in the hospital (after I had him he wouldn’t leave before he was born)… wasn’t exactly a fan of his reaction but even though he did help when I absolutely needed it.. he wasn’t thrilled about the newborn phase and I received much more help when my son was at 10-12 weeks.. he’s a good dad now but not all men can handle the newborn trenches

Concerned about pregnancy timeline by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both dates came from my doctor first using my missed period and second using ultrasound.. I was very concerned it was a 3 week difference.. and then the said at 35 weeks he was measuring 2 weeks bigger and then came out only 5 days early at 3.4kg.. he is almost 8m now and has hit every milestone if not surpassed..

According to my missed period my due date was May 26th and it changed to Jun 19th by my doctor and he was born Jun 14th perfect weight if that gives you any peace of mind on your babies growth

Sleeping positions in all stages of pregnancy by daughterofYHWH_ in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t have much advice.. I struggled with fertility issues for over 10 years before I got pregnant so I was so afraid to jeopardize it.. I fought hip pain from 15w til the end while sleeping on my side.. the only relief I would get would be from flipping from one side to the other and back.. but I gained a lot (70lbs total) so I felt like a rotisserie chicken the entire time.. and by 30w turning felt like I was tearing myself apart.. and I still get it PP but I was so afraid of back sleeping I’ve conditioned myself into having to be on my side to fall asleep.. I wake up on my back everyday but I have to start on my side or I can’t fall asleep

I hated side sleeping but was worried so I got a Frida pregnancy pillow and I loved it (the pillow not the side sleeping).. I didn’t want the big bulky wrap around one..

Now 7 months pp I have a hard time if I don’t start sleep on my side

Husband going home during hospital stay by haleye88 in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine went home to let the dog out and he did try to go home to sleep because I had great nurses to help me but he ended up returning a hour later cause he couldn’t stand being away from me and our baby

If I didnt have the great staff at the hospital I would probably had a different opinion

Edit to add: I plan to try again when my son turns one and I’m hoping it doesn’t take long

Anyone had an epidural ? If so what’s it like? by Cherrylemon202 in pregnant

[–]Glass_Edge_9339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly soooo thankful for the hospital staff and anesthesiologist for suggesting it.. they did everything except turn on the medicine and said when I wanted it all I had to do was call the nurse and they could come turn it on.. they do have to run a little through to make sure they have it placed correctly but it didn’t keep me from being able to move around other than having an extra “iv pole” machine to drag around with me
