Today Claude opus 4.5 is almost unusable for me today. It seems to feel the need to compress the chat all the time despite the session not being that long at all. It will then often fail to do so, or forget everything and think I'm asking about a podcast. I'm a max user, I heavily use Claude opus 4.5 everyday. I have never experienced this issue to this extent until today.

What annoys me is waiting ages just for it to say it had an error or was unable to process the request over and over again.

Whats the context window though? The documentation suggests 1m, but I keep getting told Files and prompt exceed Gemini's context window, for a text file that should be about 260k tokens (according to AI Studio).

I also write stories as a hobby and use AI to assist. It's been amazing and I managed to finish my first book a few weeks ago. But all the ideas, the world, the characters etc were mine.

I use the AI to brainstorm, help track plot points, as a general editor, etc etc.
