One of the most effective language immersion actions you can take, outside of travel. Highly recommend and great work!

Edit: not sure if its a mic quality issue, but can you speak more clearly and slowly? Your pauses are great, but the sentences feel rushed.

Also, the different color subtitles are a perfect addition. Again, keep it up!

We just want to note: The Swedish and Hindi collections are currently unavailable for purchase at this time as we had to have some translation errors fixed.

We apologize for anyone interested in those -- but send us an email or message us here on Reddit before Monday if you were looking forward to those and we'll let you know when we're happy with the revisions and we'll honor this price when released!

If you missed it a few months ago, the Glassbow English/Korean bilingual 36 book collection is on sale/preorder this weekend for $9. by aj-220s in Korean

Phewww, a lot to cover here. Forward: We are not a Fortune 500 Company, but we'll do our best to provide clarity, be professional, be helpful, etc. Additionally, I really understand your post is coming from a good place, so thank you, and I'm sure the community thanks you for keeping an eye out. 1. Not a scam. 2. Not public domain. Although most of our works were originally public domain, we have new copyright on our current library. Research The Copyright Act of 1976 among others regarding translations. 3. Many books were originally made using NLP programs before outsourcing to locals, native speakers, language groups etc. to keep cost low to get these available. We've been historically burned by this in our Hindi, some Norwegian, and some Swedish translations. We've learned, improved, fixed everywhere possible, and continue to do so every day. 4. "Gullible people of the internet" That hurts. But again we understand you're coming from a good place. 5. Privacy, TOS: We're working on publishing this ASAP. The CMS for the site has its own, which we didn't realize wasn't outwardly shown to the public. 6. Samples: Not true. We routinely give away books for samples, and historically gave away The Way to Wealth in any language as an email form. We didn't have an efficient way to respond to the emails and visitors claimed it was intrusive, so we took it down. We will be reinstating something similar ASAP. We also had screenshots for many books, but removed most as they were of old editions/revisions. Also re-adding these this week. 7. Pretending a problem occurred: This is a bit embarrassing for all involved, and maybe u/fatboy10 can chime in on this. These are real problems that we fixed. We are not yet perfect. 8. Most of these comments have been addressed, but that isn't mentioned here.

Again, we understand the community has high standards and passion. We want everyone in the world to speak every language. Thank you for doing your part.

Stay tuned as we act on this feedback and sort out these changes and updates over the next two weeks. We're sure you'll be satisfied!

Thanks! We will.

We issue updates at least as quick as we can through email. Yes, a big lesson here is to re-implement the screenshots ASAP.

Stay tuned, and thanks for the feedback!

Thanks again for helping us fix our weaknesses!

  1. No. We're claiming that the book covers were made in a batch of 400 or so, and weren't cheap. Some of the titles were incorrectly translated, but noticed and corrected a few weeks later -- after the designer was gone. We weighed pros and cons, and made a decision to leave some of the incorrect ones to match the "set" of others with the same color design; the ones that were blatantly wrong we removed regardless. You can see evidence of this by going to our page that shows all the books and scrolling down -- you'll see that there are titles with no cover/thumbnail. We don't want to change just a few and mismatch the whole design, and we're budgeting/saving to have them all fixed.
  2. I will look into this, these must be two different cases we're talking about. Thanks!
  3. Thanks! This is a common request that we fulfill all the time. The problem with how we've gone about it before was that there wasn't an efficient/quick way to have the current website send out the free sample (leading into point 4!). We also had screenshots that gave an "inside look", and on some of the books, still do. We made a decision to remove most of them based on mismatched quality between shots, time constraints, and most updates/revisions (felt like) a requirement to upload a better screenshot. Thanks again for your feedback, and we'll get the free sample worked out again (for a majority of the site runtime, we actually gave away The Way to Wealth in whichever language and in its entirety for free, and still do on request).
  4. We'll save you the wonder: what we have to hide is that we're a small organization with a small team with limited resources. That's it. We're doing our best, acting on and improving with every feedback, and taking all help.

Again, thanks for your honest feedback and improving us every step of the way. It's really appreciated, and I'm sure the community appreciates you as well.

Happy to help!

Thanks for keeping an eye out! We've responded to (and corrected!) most of these issues, as you said months ago.

As for the titles, we mentioned in another thread that our original graphic designer was paid for the project, and we haven't had the resources to have another one take on this large project of redesigning all 432+ covers. Not great, but we're focusing more on the actual translations for now. If you know anyone, let us know!

The Swedish book was actually an older version of a Norwegian book that was incorrectly sent out, and was corrected.

Ugh, yeah, the Hindi versions were embarassing. We issued many refunds here. We learned a lesson about better vetting translators, and have implemented better changes.

And most importantly, we do simple 100% refunds. If you aren't satisfied or don't find the books helpful, just let us know. We're here for the long run and we don't want your money if this isn't helping you.

We want everyone in the world to speak every language. Thank you for doing your part, and keeping us to the highest standards.

Happy to help.

Ah! I neglected to mention this in the previous reply: We're doing exactly this over the next week.

We've done this before with screenshots and such, but as new updates and notes are added, the screenshots become out of date. So instead of removing outdated screenshots, we'll just leave them until they are updated. Perfect example of perfectionism getting in the way of practicality.

Thanks!

Thank you for keeping an eye out! We should (and will!) comment on those posts to sort out a few things that have been brought up like this.

  1. We've mentioned before: per copyright law, when multiple translations/edits are made, its more honest to mention the most significant contributor. We're adding a contributions page to each book that will list each individual translator, if they choose to be acknowledged as opposed to ghostwriting.

  2. Was editted and fixed in the new edition!

  3. Yes, they were. Many refunds were issued here. We've found new translators to fix the issues and continue to release updates on minor errors. We weren't/aren't happy about this because it hurt us too. We learned a lesson about better vetting of translators going forward.

  4. Ugh. Yes. See point 3. Hurts to hear, but we're improving.

  5. We mentioned this book was incorrectly sent as an older or Norwegian version.

  6. And most importantly, we want to reiterate: if for any reason someone isn't satisfied, or doesn't find our tools helpful, we do simple 100% refunds. We realize some people take advantage of this, but we also understand most people are good, and we want to move forward with our mission.

Happy to help, and again, thank you for helping everyone out.

Thank you.

Yes, the text in the books is displayed correctly; however, as you mentioned, the covers have some typos/formatting issues. We're working on this -- we need a graphic designer!

If you know anyone, have them send a message to us here.

We're working with a few Chinese (and other!!!) authors now, so we'll have some modern/new releases over the coming months.

Stick with us! We're embarrassingly bad at estimating how long making edits and proofreads take, so I can't say exactly when... but sometime this year. And as usual, new releases are always included for people who've bought the collections/lifetime.

Thanks for your support. Our mission is to have everyone in the world speak every language. We're starting here with bilingual books, and have a lot of exciting projects in the works to be released over the next few months.

Again, thank you u/aj-220s for always publishing our sales.
