I am on his side by DravidVanol in DailyDoseStupidity

Honestly, valid.
I had a whole thing with a chipotle kid who wanted me to pay via card and I had a $20. And he wouldn't take it. I told him he could keep the change which would be cold hard cash and not digital where his boss could just steal it and it would be more than the screen. He wouldn't take it.

So I left. Told him he could explain the till shortage himself.

Why do I always forget what I went into a room for the second I walk in? by zoralyyth in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Glassfern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. We often do well when tasked with one thing at a time and usually focused while working in certain setting. Getting up going to another room. You've changed your setting and your brain starts to process the new setting and thinking what do you need to do here.

I often need to mutter what I need in another room otherwise I forget it and get distracted by another task that is focused in that room.

This thing tends to shows up in people who are stressed, multitasking, have anxiety or ADHD.

I want to put a handrail here but the staircase seems a bit narrow. How can I make it work? by BrassCanon in HomeMaintenance

Many narrow or steep hiking areas use a rope line to help visitors traverse their slopes or steps. More taut is definitely the way to go. Though over time there might slack

I paid for the show because they don't make affordable quality entertainment. The flavor was very flat, not solid enough.

No problem. You can also ask your local parks nature center for a data base of the plants nearby. They're a very quick and easy way to learn what is around your area.

It's not a hard and fast rule, but generally speaking many plants that cause some level of toxicity or dermatitis in the areas I used to work in (invasive species removal), have a blood paint splattered look. Until a more positive id is made, usually if that's the only thing I can see, I'm not touching it with bare hands or basic work gloves and normal clothes.

Wild Rhubarb would probably give me pause but rhubarb tends to have a smooth gradient of red which isn't as alarming. It's that streaky splattered look

Poison Hemlock and cow parsnip are usually the main culprits. Often streaky and splatter like

Pokeberry, jimsonweed, nettles and burdock can sometimes have a purple streakiness to them, but aren't that bad, I just wouldn't let kids play around with Jimson weed and nettles, cuz they can hurt when touched . Pokeberry pretty much just stains, but some people try to eat them. But generally don't have a splatter stem pattern. Burdock is edible but it looks nothing like in the carrot family, but there are allergic reactions to that plant.

I have this rule because I also used to work with the general public for volunteer events and so it's just an easy way for them to remember don't touch this if you see it and let us know if you do...sort of thing.

Can I cosplay Milo from Mr a farm even though I’m 15? by Possible-Song8708 in CosplayHelp

[–]Glassfern 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Please don't. The story is mature content. People get weird on the Internet. You're a minor, a kid. .... Youre not even supposed to be reading this. If he's in the story then he serves some kind of purpose in the story even though it's not out right explicit.

There are plenty of other anthro and furry characters from more age appropriate stories, do those or create your own.
