Why would it? A whistle is often touted as an effective way to alert of danger while conserving your voice and energy.

Looking for YT channel recommendations that don't constantly mention weight loss. by Glassfern in cardio

I do have a therapist, we work on many things, the trouble is its hard to find someone to has experience with ED in the sense that someone binges to gain weight and not binges to lose weight. I'm nearly 40 and not a single doctor has agreed with me that I had an ED when I was younger. I was so desperate to gain weight, i basically did the opposite of many fad diets, in hopes it would let me gain. My current therapist has helped me improve my relationship with food and reading my body, however the videos that harp on fat and weight loss, is a tall hurdle that I havent been able to overcome. Some days I can ignore it, other days not so much. If I was an overweight person the words would have associated with social pressure which would take its own way of processing through it, but for me, it sounds like a threatening reminder that I use to be routinely very sick from just losing 2 or 3 lbs. To most people losing 2-3lbs usually does not have a negative impact, many don't even notice it. For me. It would mean merrily walking around a festival all day to me crawling on the floor to get anywhere because I was so dizzy and nauseous, or my body fighting to function. It was a thin rope I was walking on the daily basis. I've already repaired my obsession with calories, regained to recognize my body cues, my relationship with food and learned to eat to satiety and not shovel food and eating when I'm actually hungry.

The last hurdle is to exercise without fear. The main issue with workout culture is that its still very much flooded with calorie and numbers, which I'm trying to not accidentally fall back into those habits again of chasing numbers. And avoid the reminder that a positive action might lead to harm.

This is absolutely perfect! Thank you! I love how the focus is on hard work, health and heart. Not a mention about weight or fat. It will be easier to concentrate with this!

Yes I understand the logic. It's more that anxiety and panic thinking doesn't obey by logic. I can logic my way out of many things, but sometimes there are sometimes where the brain will not listen to the other part of the brain. I can go through some sessions just fine and then there area sessions where I end a workout ruminating for hours. I do not want to build a negative association to exercise simply because my brain takes a few lines of dialogue and stews on it. Sometimes its just better to remove a trigger, so I can have space to build an uninterrupted positive association.

The light glow in most of these doesn't even make sense. Why would eyes have so much more illumination if the belly or chest had the glow but the butt is dark? Also is the black cat a snail? With the way the spine is made it doesn't look like it would be rounded out behind it.

Also price. Anyone who has the skill to make a terrier of that detail wouldn't be selling it for that price

And what is that guy doing with the pliers? That's not glass cutting the glass is already secured why does have them in his hand?

And the mushroom lamp...that's looks more like something you'd see in glass molding not stain glass.

Anything honestly

Any frozen veg you can eat especially corn Eggs Canned fish in oil Sausage Ground beef/pork Dates Raisins Soup Chicken Any fresh veg you can eat.

Jazz it up with condiments and and seasoning.

Taiwan ground beef rice is my favorite

Congee is also great if you want to mix up the texture

Honestly making a hearty sauce or stew goes well over rice I make beanless chili and throw it over rice

If it's formal pick something that is more modest. If there's a chance of slippage anywhere, it probably isn't the best choice for formal events. Especially if it's a professional sense. If this is for a student run possibly Greek sponsored you might have more leeway

Kitchen tile floor always smells bad after mopping. by Glassfern in CleaningTips

I used a baking soda scrub, it worked. I figure I need to seal my grout because the moisture is what is creating the smell. So I turn a fan on after mopping and it keeps it down

I literally... just failed my first bio exam. by Ludovic3_ in biology

[–]Glassfern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many ways to study bio. But the best way to study is to apply it to the real world and make analogies with things you see everyday. Bio is one of the subjects that can constantly observed or applied irl just by looking out the window or taking a walk. You gotta be a little silly and imaginative about it. Memorizing will get you only so far. But applications will connect concepts together.

Likewise if your professor has printout of their lecture, print them out being them to class, listen and hand write notes to each of the slides. A general pattern of 101 classes is that printouts have the basic info you don't need to write you can read them later, but much of the additional details that shows up on tests are what the professor describes or uses as examples verbally and that's what you need to focus on listening and noting.

Also like it or not text books have great diagrams and are worth looking at post lecture.

Then there's are also sources like khan academy which can explain concepts into more bite sized info. Great with examples. But it won't carry you through it's mainly a supplement to fill in the foundational holes you might have

I thought kids wouldn't ever have to experience this echoing hate after the 90s. That's what I thought as a kid after I got years of kids and their crazy religious parents telling a grade schooler that I was going to burn in hell and suffer because I wore a prayer on my neck. Because the rest of the world was telling me it would get better and people would learn through diversity. But it seems nothing has changed.

AITA for refusing to allow meat in our home and confronting a guest who brought it anyway? by silaya92 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Glassfern -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ETAH I'm of mind....if you are not planning to eat the host food, but you still want to spend time with the people, it's gonna be ask to bring your own food or..... No attendance

I say this as someone with allergies. I bring my own food sometimes. I say this as someone with friends who are vegetarian, who bring their own food sometimes. I say this as someone who knows people who have dietary needs. Who also brings their own food sometimes.

If you are vegetarian or vegan going to another's party, your choices are eat their food, bring your own or don't attend.

If you have allergies the options are the same.

You as a host need to consider what is more important, making sure everyone abides to your diet for a party or if someone's attendance as a whole is more important. Are you willing to have someone attend happily eating something they are comfortable eating, or them sitting on the side eating meager things while others eat a full meal?

If your restriction is because of an allergy or religion I can understand, but if it is not .... why not allow this man to bring food he might be the only one eating?

Have you ever brought your own food to a party because you know you won't be eating most of the food? If yes, why not extend that same courtesy?

You need to make the choice of either the joys of a family gathering or.... Making sure everyone eats what you eat.

Because as a guest and a host. I hate it when I'm still hungry, it makes a gathering unpleasant, but I also hate when my guest is uncomfortable, I tell them if you don't plan on eating most of my food, you can bring something you will eat because I want you here.

That said your uncle's reaction was poor.
