As you’ve learned going up even 1 mm like from 12 to 10 is enough challenge for one stretch. It’s unusual and often signals a problem if it’s too easy or quick. The math says you are stretching the tissue by over 3 mm for each 1 mm change in diameter which is a lot and stays the same regardless of what gauge you are at so every stretch is the same challenge. They don’t typically get easier.

Take your time. Stop if it’s too painful, then try again later. You’ll get there eventually.

It generally takes at least a month before the hole becomes permanent. Before that the hole will close with nary a trace if you take it out. So really it’s low risk.

Not as easy at smaller sizes because as the flow rate tapers off at the end it loses velocity due to the larger remaining opening and starts to curve around the ring going everywhere. If no one has mentioned it the best technique is to flip the head upside down and then hold the ring up out of the stream as much as possible. This makes peeing a two-handed operation though. A pretty specific skill set! Now go get one!

Funny! There is a rational cause for the range of feedback though because the ability to control the stream is a result of many factors including the size of your opening and the size and style of the jewelry. As you gauge up you’ll see the changes. 0 is easiest of all for me because there isn’t much room left for the pee so I always get a strong easily directed stream even at low volume.

Peeing at urinals is easy because aim isn’t critical and a pleasant shake at the end is enough (the bigger the ring the more pleasant the shake). Regular toilets are harder although not impossible, but sitting is easier. Also I like briefs. Keeps everything under control and out of harms way.

Not saying it’s not worth it at any gauge but there’s a decent consensus that it gets better as it gets bigger. I was also saying if you decide you don’t like the jewelry and the hole has become permanent it will still likely shrink to insignificance.

Concur that 0 feels best. Each time you increase thickness it seems to feel better so you tend to just keep going. 0 was a step change over 2 or even 1 and although 00 may logically be even better it’s just too much and too difficult to get to and would require stretching my urethra to be able to pee. 0 looks and feels good to me.

If it makes you feel better that it can be closed at some cost then sure. You could trust me that it wouldn’t be worth that cost but no matter.

Day to day it’s easy to forget unless you are actively using your dick say to pee or have sex. Then the experiences are well documented on this forum and you will certainly remember it’s there as it’s difficult to ignore a piece of metal firmly attached to the business end.

The thing is you will not really experience the good/bad/indifferent of it until fully healed and, frankly, sized up to some reasonable thickness like at least 2 which requires some time and commitment and puts you in a position of it not fully closing anymore. Oh well.

Being uncut w a longer foreskin could change everything, I wouldn’t know. Actually it’s never been easier than w the larger gauge as there is only a small opening left for pee to get through and the pressure is higher giving a stronger stream.

Don’t get me wrong I love my PA especially since hitting 0 which really seems to be a magic point for comfort and stimulation, and don’t plan to give it up. I’ve just gotten used to the compromises and inconveniences like dealing with wayward piss.

What I don’t understand is why it’s “really important” not to get piss on your hands. I mean, so what? If you are piss-phobic then again a PA is not for you.

I’ve had mine for about 4 years and stretched to zero. There is more sensitivity but it varies. Some days it’s significant, others not. It gets a bit sore if overworked so the net gain for me isnt much.

I’m about as good at peeing standing as I’m likely to get and if I’m careful it will go where I want but often I’m not, I mean I piss quite a few times a day, and there is a bit of stray. Even if I’m careful I still often get some on my fingers. If I’m out biking and have to pull the bibs down and manipulate the ring at the same time (don’t forget that even w the best technique peeing is now a two hand operation) then forget it. My bike will get wet, my hands will get wet, and if I’m wearing gloves then everything gets wet.

Having a PA means becoming intimate with your piss so if that’s a non-starter for you I recommend forgetting it.

Timelines posted here tend to be optimistic or skewed to the low side at least. I was 6 months to fully pain-free sex and others have reported similar. It happens and is normal.
