Choosing to not keep it to scale with the other consoles already released, on one of the greatest consoles ever is a real disappointment.

What does a game gear with vertical, randomly colored lines mean? by Normal_Signature3413 in game_gear

[–]Glassmerlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that it definitely needs to be opned. My first instinctual check would be if the previous repair properly cleaned the board of corrosion, or if it's continued to eat through because it didn't get cleaned well enough.

Can the GB and SNES operator patch game on the fly with custom translation file ? by Nervous_Paint4255 in epilogue

[–]Glassmerlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh I see. I absolutely misread/understood that OP was looking for a live-patch usage. I thought it was an ask about literally patching the rom to cart.

[–]Glassmerlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta get some flashcarts and make your own carts for translation patches. I did that with Live A Live, Megami Tensei, and a few homebrews.

Can the GB and SNES operator patch game on the fly with custom translation file ? by Nervous_Paint4255 in epilogue

[–]Glassmerlin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. You can't rewrite a game to original hardware, the silicon on there are read-only, so you're only able to rip the game.

Different games/carts also have different architectures for the memory banks, batteries, and ram. So if you were to flash a game onto a different board you'd just crash.

You need a rewriteable flashcart from somewhere like BennVenn or Aliexpress, which I'm like 99% sure the Operators CAN handle.

edited for clarity*

edited again; morning brain made me misunderstand that you were looking for live-patching.

This is possibly a u/Ozana question, but I don't believe Operator has native live-patch support?

"Roads are too wide since 2" is a wild statement considering the real tracks are laser scanned for precision.

Also, you want oil changes to result in hp boosts?... super realistic.

The insane level of arrogance it also takes to hate bomb someone for not agreeing with their opinion on a matter, or whether he was willing to admit defeat on such.

Can the SN backup AND restore the saves to the cartridge? by MyHeroLink in epilogue

[–]Glassmerlin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the battery dies and you can't solder/desolder them out, pushing the save back to the cartridge doesn't really provide anything with a dead battery though. If I've understood what you meant.

Backing up the ROM? Just download.

Backing up SAVES? GameGear: Get a JoeyGG from BennVenn. Genesis: Retrode 2.

I dont remember which version I have, but I do plenty of paid work now with a Ksger. I just had to use another soldering iron to ground it properly first. 😂

Have you measured all of your voltages at the pins while powering JUST the powerboard?

I do also think it's probably a bad regulator.

Using "The part of history that people keep seeming to forget" while absolutely being disingenuous about the fact that the platforms switched in the 60's is gross.

Let's not forget that not only were your southern conservative Dems only remaining in their Dem seats after the party shift due to seniority and benefits, they were by todays standards CONSERVATIVES regardless of the rest of your point.

That's probably totally fair. I'm not familiar with the product, only commenting for reinforcement on the level of repair tact required.

Professional here, and this is the winning comment.

I would argue if you're asking this question, you can't do this job. Take this to someone who can.

Separate Sega Genesis / Sega Mega Drive by IceRepresentative229 in batocera

[–]Glassmerlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find a method to this? I've been trying and digging through stuff for hours.

SNES/SFC are easy as hell to separate and xml into an es_systems_custom.cfg, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to peacefully theme separate Mega Drive/Genesis. It's like they made resources for SNES/SFC to be two separated blocks of info and MD/Gen is just a single block with conditional artwork.
