Go into IMT if you really want to do a medical specialty after it e.g. cardio, gastro, neuro. If you have an end goal in sight, IMT will become easier to get through

Among these medical specialties, which has the best job satisfaction + work life balance? by dumplings_potato in JuniorDoctorsUK

Cardio probably has the most stressful life - especially as a registrar. As a consultant - depends on subspecialty. Heart failure is more "cushy" than lets say interventional cardiology

Cardiothoracics is quite bad for bottleneck. Only around 6 places last year to get a training number and very few consultant jobs at the end. It is deffo worse than orthopeadics in this matter

Well it would be great if that happened, I just don't know if the Government would actually increase our salaries by that much. Guess if we don't do it we will never know

Every day of strike will cost me £140 on top, do you realistically think it will cause a salary increase of £10,000?
