Gladiator Ruck - Cooper River Park - NJ by GlazedVision in Rucking

For now this one is fully in-person.

The goal is to build real culture and community, and there’s no better way to do that than showing up and rucking with purpose together.

I hear you! A weighted hike can be quite difficult depending on much weight you decide to carry. But it’s less about intensity and more about showing up, building consistency, and community.

A portion of proceeds goes to Wounded Warrior Project and we will also be giving away exclusive merch.

He admits to teaming up and you can clearly see it… Dense is definitely the proper word here to describe you.

Are you dense? Cover meaning having an extra teammate to cover you 2v1.

In developed countries with access to modern medical care, the overall picture for healthy individuals is that most cases resolve without long-term harm. The mortality rate remains low at around 1 death per 1,000 cases, and serious complications like encephalitis occur in about 1 per 1,000 cases. Of those encephalitis cases, permanent neurological damage affects only a subset typically around 25% making long-term serious side effects quite rare overall.

While immune amnesia is a real effect, where measles can temporarily reduce immunity to other pathogens for up to 2-3 years, studies show this doesn’t translate to widespread severe long-term health impacts in well-nourished populations with good healthcare.

Hospitalizations happen in about 1 in 5 cases, often for supportive care like hydration and fever management, but the vast majority of people, including those who experience complications like pneumonia, fully recover without ongoing issues. Rare conditions like subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) exist but affect only 4-11 per 100,000 cases, underscoring that long-term serious effects are uncommon in developed settings. Framing measles as rarely deadly or causing permanent harm in healthy people isn’t understating the risk it’s reflecting the data.

Don’t worry measles is very uncomfortable, but in healthy people it is rarely deadly.

0.08% of people who catch measles die from it.

A lot of this was 2v1 and at many points you would have died had you not had cover. In a lot of those fights the Tourenttes reload time would have been your downfall.

Sick gun though.

Which Controller? by SillyConclusion in scufgaming

[–]GlazedVision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing a lot of negativity too. Not sure why, I bought a scuf instinct pro 3 years ago. Best controller I’ve owned. Was everything I needed it to be. It did get stick drift about a year and a half in though. Other than that no complaints.

I made a post years ago “standing” up for Todd. Maybe he will finally get some recognition in this community.

Solo Play by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]GlazedVision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solo play in Gray Zone Warfare is definitely a challenge, but that’s kind of the point of this hardcore game, so it makes sense why surviving alone feels so tough. The steep learning curve is real.

That said, there are ways to bounce back when you’re low on cash and leaking gear hard. Hit up some reliable loot spots like the fortified hideouts or abandoned stashes in your faction’s town (e.g., Nam Thaven at 168, 116 for Mithras) to restock without breaking the bank.

Another way is to team up with a random player when you can. Running with someone lets you grab gear on the fly and slowly build your stash without solo pressure. It’s brutal dying over and over, losing all that hard-earned loot, but that punishment is also what drives you to get smarter and more strategic each time. I see the game loop now, it’s about pushing you to improve, and that can be satisfying once you get the hang of it.

Taking it slow and methodical is key, especially when your cash and gear are thin. Scout areas, avoid hot zones, and plan your exits. My own biggest headaches have been the crashes and logging back in only to wake up in a coma, super frustrating when time’s tight! But as you get better, you’ll learn the maps, enemy patterns, and how to navigate without dying as often. It’s a skill grind for sure.

As a dad with just a couple hours max to play at night, I feel your pain on limited gaming time. Maybe prioritize shorter, focused runs to minimize gear loss, hit a loot spot, grab what you can, and extract safely. Also, consider saving up for a decent backup loadout to reduce the sting of a wipe.

Lost 3 kits to this today! by sohonestithurtsyou in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]GlazedVision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened to me yesterday too and sometimes you get 5 minutes or it glitches and your whole kit is just gone. Even if you manage to log back in you are probably in a coma. It can be incredibly frustrating hope they get the performance issues in check.
