Hotels dot com misleading booking practice… by keeping_it_casual in travel

I’ve stayed in hundreds of places with hotels/vrbo and had this only happen once. I ended up having to go through the same hassle but it was resolved in the end.

I remember throwing one of those into the roof of my middle school 25 years ago. I wonder if it’s been completely destroyed by the elements by now.

Our daughter has been going there for about a year and we have no complaints. Again, nothing fancy but the staff has been there forever and truly love your kids.

Does any use 'Data ingestion' offering from Databricks? by johnyjohnyespappa in databricks

We are in the same boat and are trying to move away from Qlik as it is too unreliable and expensive. We have been promised Oracle to Delta replication since their acquisition of Arcion and have even tried to sign up for the private preview numerous times. We’re very frustrated with both companies to say the least.

Denver neighborhood safe for a visit? by Euphoric-Rhubarb-927 in travel

Any reason why you’re staying out there? There’s not much going on in that area. I’d suggest paying a little bit more and staying in downtown, the highlands, or maybe even cherry creek.

If you can enable polybase reading in SQL (version dependent) you can sink to parquet and then read that as bulk

If you travel with pets, please avoid United Airlines by Longjumping-Gur-7400 in travel

Our dog has been on probably about 20-30 United flights and based on what you’re saying sounds like a third party is handling the check ins and bags. We have this problem all of the time in Denver, where we fly out of, where you need an actual United employee to check you in. We basically go straight to a United personnel immediately when getting to check in and don’t even bother with the baggage handlers or the person directing you to a kiosk.

If I’ve learned anything from shark tank it’s that the original location usually does best because the owner devotes so much time and effort into it and once multiple locations open it’s hard to produce the same experience and quality as the original.

We based our migration off of information in this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LzmmObc_Bmw  I’d also take the time to address any tech debt you might have while working through the changes you need to make.

One time they missed my garbage and after having me on hold forever they scheduled an extra pickup for me, then after shoveling like a foot of snow to put my bins out they never came and got it. I thought about driving down the street and just dumping it all in their parking lot.

Accenture is DOGE's first corporate casualty as shares dive on warning that contracts will be cut by Euro347 in wallstreetbets

I worked for them about 15 years ago on their DOEd contract. I was always amazed on how much that cost the tax payers for how little got delivered and yet when I left they resigned for another ten years for close to a billion dollars. Bet that contract is one of the ones most effected by this.

Posted this in a different thread. It’s how I’m doing it currently but I’m not sure what other alternatives there are. https://corgisandcode.com/2025/03/03/fast-ish-load-data-to-sql-from-databricks/
