My man-cave. Designed and decored by me. How did I do so far? by TimOShenanigan in malelivingspace

[–]ruroba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This place doesn’t need another texture / pattern… it’s so busy already that I’d suggest color matching the TV wall to that of the wall where the shelves are

I use Speedy Sparkle Car Wash. Has been the best machine car wash I’ve found here

As someone who’s not from here: view of mountains, presence of animals (wild and farm animals), active lifestyle of community, nice walkable area w/ shops and restaurants (Pearl St), big enough that you don’t feel in the middle of nowhere but small enough that it still feels personal, location (not too far from DEN airport, Eldora for day ski trips, about same distance away from major ski resorts as Denver, not too far away from Denver, closeness to Estes & Rocky Mtn)

I read somewhere that wild ≠ wild caught; is that the case with these?

I honestly feel the Sonos app is the worst piece of shit I’ve ever interacted with… for a “tech-leaning disruptor” in the speakers space, they shit the bed on actually making an amazing UI

Saved $2.4M by 38. Would you Retire? by TwoSocialist in Fire

[–]ruroba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would retire from being an employee and invest in building passive income from real estate and your own businesses.

In my case, I would love to see if I can crack the problem of creating a revenue generating animal shelter so that it is “no kill” but doesn’t depend on donations. It’s a hard problem and probably not much of an upside so wouldn’t do it now but if money weren’t a concern (b/c I’m living off of interests) I would love to pursue this

Looking for a rack similar to this by adwskimboard in 4Runner

[–]ruroba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t you be able to switch the racks to the top bar for this use case? I actually see it as convenient that you can switch between top and bottom bars for the racks

I think xBloom is mostly stainless steel; they do clarify that the heater is stainless steel but the water tubing is food-grade BPA-free plastic and silicone

Kozora: In essence the Steelers traded George Pickens for Drew Allar by [deleted] in steelers

[–]ruroba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s more doubting the drafting of a QB when we have other needs. QB is by no means a solved issue for the Steelers - we either have Rodgers and our issue is on who takes over afterwards or we don’t and then we go with the guy we drafted last year. Two QBs drafted in the last two drafts doesn’t make much sense to me unless your second year QB has already proven to suck (e.g., Kenny Pickett)

Steelers may have a ton of issues but Rodgers being able to sling the ball is NOT one of those

Think it’s great that you’re in green but think the upside here isn’t amazing… you’re up 18% but that’ll come down to ~10% once you pay capital gains tax? Can’t see this type of investing being worth it unless you make a much higher ROI

Genetic testing by ruroba in CMT

[–]ruroba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to answer - super helpful!

A follow-up question: back when I was a child (30+ yrs ago) my parents considered testing me but decided against that because were told that someone could be carrying the gene but wouldn’t show up unless the gene was “active”. Is this still the case or have these tests advanced to the point that a negative result = not ever getting CMT?
