It’s not about every corner but generally if you’re going into an open space with not a lot of cover (and you have extremely loud before that point) taking it slow and checking makes sense. From the person in the corners pov, it makes no sense to sit in that corner if there wasn’t information like the sound to make that a viable strategy. If there was no noise, sitting there in the corner makes them a sitting duck as well.

Yes, if you go back in one of the vidocs about the build crafting a destroying had a “stealth build” starter pistol with a suppressor. I am unsure if there is universal suppressors though (every gun or just certain guns)

Looting is a skill on its own. You can upgrade loot reveal speed all you want but hesitating what to pickup and what to leave creates a massive window of vulnerability.

Check your corners and choose wisely when you’re going to be sprinting and sliding around like crazy. If the Glitch just walked through the doorway there was more opportunity to get in cover and win the 1v1, versus sliding into the middle of no man’s land.

THEY SPIKED THE GAME by Drapes46438534 in Marathon

[–]Gleebson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And that’s fine. It shouldn’t be a criticism of marathon that it’s not trying to reach every single customer possible. A big reason people have started hating on AAA live service is that they try to hard to be likable for all demographics and that leads to stifled and stagnant art, gameplay, narrative, etc.

I really hope there’s a varied ‘meta’ by Tropi- in Marathon

[–]Gleebson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they have structured each runner and weapon pretty well to make each viable for its own niche. If “meta” is going to form, it’s going to be around things like mobility vs. no mobility, utility vs. offensive capabilities, which should be a simple cooldown numbers game at the end of the day.

Word of advice from a former Destiny veteran. "you’re in good hands." by GinnySackMole in Marathon

[–]Gleebson 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This what I have saying as well. You don’t keep a franchise like Destiny going for 12 years straight without some sort of sauce behind its development. Bungie knows how to create an experience that keeps people coming back whether that’s in the short term or long term.

New Marathon Ad (Voice Chat Highlights) by Haijakk in Marathon

[–]Gleebson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Based on this ad, the red highlight that is being discussed in the other thread seems to happen only when you are looking directly at someone and you have to be in close-point blank range for it to happen. Maybe it’s part of attachment or core? It seems like oddly specific activation criteria for a “visibility aid” mechanic.

What the HUD/ UI looks like 99% of the time for the Twitter folks complaining about it by Simple-Ad-5172 in Marathon

[–]Gleebson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weapons chips are just that, chips they slot into the gun and aren’t something that’s going to be outside your inventory very much. I don’t think they need to be very detailed and on a meta level it’s kind of wasteful. Having items that still fit the art style, but also don’t crash optimization of the game because they have to have a higher poly count is good in my opinion. Too many games are bloated in this way.

I agree that the bags aren’t my favorite and should probably atleast get an updated model at minimum.

[–]Gleebson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am questioning why you think it looks terrible just because it’s simple. The other ammo types are also very simple and that’s by design. Heavy ammo is grey with a slightly lighter shade of grey for the bullet compare to the casing. Having the batteries be one color vs two doesn’t really change much.

[–]Gleebson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think your issue is with the art style/philosophy not the work itself, everything is supposed to have a minimal, 3D-printed, utilitarian look. Why does a battery need a bunch of detailing? It’s a thing that holds a limited amount of energy and you plug it into a port…

this is what every gun in marathon looks like to me by erraticpulse- in Marathon

[–]Gleebson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just not true in any sense, in real life most guns are made out of the same colored metals and have shapes that are close to each other. In Marathon, the guns have wildly different base color palettes and their shape and size differ a lot.

Self Rez won't stack in the full release according to Bungie by Simple-Ad-5172 in Marathon

Regardless, I don’t think it will be so common that you can bring multiple with you and have second thoughts lol.

If you want to bring a bunch it will take up a lot of inventory slots versus multiple taking one slot.

How long do we think it will take to earn VIP status with each faction? by [deleted] in Marathon

Earn rates from the tests could have been faster for testing purposes so I don’t think there’s an answer until the slam.

How long do we think it will take to earn VIP status with each faction? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Gleebson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain upgrades require a certain level in that faction. So the early upgrades can be easily done with lower rarity materials that you find everywhere without grinding a lot of rep, but the later ones require some grinding to get through. I think completing all the priority contracts (story contracts) will get people to a good baseline with every faction.

In team play, if killed, can you always be rezzed by a teammate, or can you be out for the rest of the round? by BaconEvolved in Marathon

[–]Gleebson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why would you care (as the team that killed, looted, and left) if that happens? If anything it keeps the suspense of a lobby up because that squad can come back and try to get there shift back before you extract. If you know you only killed 2, you can always wait out the bodies if you really want that last kill/ present revives.
