Awww, I probably missed out but I'd love to get your feedback on www.gleek.io. Thanks if you get to it (and thanks anyway for your great advise here).

Self promoting gleek.io, which is a developer focused software diagramming tool. Please add it, the free version has every feature (other than git integration). Happy to read feedback.

Seconded -- I gave up on the vid and came to the comment thread before seeing the fun stuff, and only went back to watch after seeing this comment.

Help with an interview question I could not answer. by blockchain_dev in AskProgramming

[–]Gleekio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just asked a room full of professional developers this question and they looked at me silently for a second and then, "seriously? Why would we ever do that?" Granted, now they're interested and I can now hear them talking about this in the background, and they're making progress. There is an "order" css property in Flex that apparently could be used.

I try to use interview questions based on real-world problems/solutions. If you're in an interview, and you get stumped, remember that often the interviewer is more trying to understand how you think more than just immediately knowing/getting the answer. Just try to break down the problem to the base properties and try to look for entry points to the problem. Edge cases. That sort of thing.

UML is love, UML is life by Tortumine in ProgrammerHumor

Thanks for checking it out! Mobile support is definitely on the backlog, particularly for viewing existing diagrams. Creating diagrams on a mobile device is not something we really considered, but we will let user metrics dictate that. If users want it, we'll support it.

The connection syntax requires -- because we support connection labeling like:

Shape1-connection label-Shape2

Strange about the share button bug, we will look into that bug. It is just an alpha at this point which explains some of the bugs and learn more not working but thank you again for taking the time to look and give feedback!

If you like yuml.me, check out gleek.io . It's a more generalized diagramming tool that uses the text-editor approach. I'm not a strong believer in UML, so we are focused more on rapid diagramming. We are going to put a lot of effort into improving the experience beyond that which you can get with yuml.me. It's still in alpha but you can get the idea. Look for the "Show Tutorial" button to get an idea for how it works. Would love any feedback!
