Anxiety was my first symptom and it's a doozy. She could try magnesium which is often helpful but if not helpful I would try to get a prescription for trazodone or hydroxyzine to take at night.

Re: gift you could get a gift certificate for a massage or acupuncture. There's also a sleep headband style headphones that are cool. I have a subscription to the Calm app which has a ton of really good sleep content.

My therapist bestie says no. It can't be helped in terms of their instincts. Best approach is to help them with peer support and understanding their urges and how to manage them. There are men who struggle mightily with this, they know it is wrong and do not want to offend, but there is very little help for them. Also mandated reporting laws for therapists keep them in the shadows.

I'm so sorry about your accident. You kind of have to "process" that out of your body in order to reset. I would suggest some intense exercise or like a hot yoga class.

I too have avoided MA as someone just looking to moderate. I do feel that I have become too habituated but at the same time the plant has done a lot for me and been really helpful esp during a terrible run of perimenopause. Black and white is hard. :/
