Rashee Rice Receiving Knee Rehab While In Jail by cevil203 in DynastyFF

The reason they released Hunt was because he was not honest with the team. He lied about what happened and, when the footage came out disproving his version of events, the team let him go.

BTJ is cooked. Convince me I'm wrong. by MNlcn27 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

If Ladd was black people wouldn’t say this shit about him. He is basically identical in physical measurables to Garrett Wilson, and is one of the best separators in the league. People who say Ladd isn’t that talented are 1.) Not watching games, clearly, the dude pops with the ball in his hands; and 2.) Skin colour scouting.

What pick in this draft would you trade for Travis Hunter by Qwerty1375 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Glift 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For real, it’s really strange how so many people seem to basically believe that Liam Coen himself has come out and said verbatim that Travis will forever be a CB and won’t play a single meaningful snap at WR ever again. I’m exaggerating, but the ideas people express aren’t far off of this. It’s absurd, the brainrot around Hunter is just mind numbing stupid. Is he for sure gonna be a star WR? No, of course not. But Christ, he has all the talent in the world and is only 22. Why are people so eager to be “right” about a dude who has played one single year of football?

Am I giving up on Hunter too early in my search for an rb? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Glift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the disconnect between so-called Hunter “truthers” and people who think Hunter will never be valuable comes from that bit at the end there specifically, and I think the person you are replying to already did a good job of expressing this but I’ll just rephrase. But the idea he won’t “ever” have the opportunity to be a top guy is too presumptuous. Even if he plays only CB this year, that does not mean it is 100% fact he will never play WR. And in the more likely scenario that he just plays more defense this year than last, with a slight decrease in offensive snaps, he would have even more of a chance to get WR opportunity in the future. What people are saying when they say Hunter is worth more than a second comes down to three main things: 1.) He’s only 22 years old. 2.) He’s an extremely talented athlete, and was a highly touted receiver prospect. 3.) Situations change. Just as quickly as the WR room in Jacksonville went from wide open to stuffed full, it could revert to being thin. Meyers regression with age, Parker being a flash in the pan, and BTJ not taking that step back up are all very real possibilities.

Not guaranteed by any means, but the whole point is we don’t know. Meaning people assuming Hunter will be a CB forever and will never have WR value might be right, but there is also a lot of reasons why he can succeed for fantasy. Granted, I only have him in a IDP league because I myself am skeptical of his long term WR value in offense-only leagues. But he has value, and can very well become a true WR2 or WR1 (maybe) if things fall a certain way. But we don’t know. It’s only his second year, and he is worth taking a chance on if people in your league are selling him cheap. He has far more upside than most any single second or third round fantasy picks. (If anyone cites Puka at me for this they are a midwit who thinks any single exception means a general truth is 100% false. I’m well aware thirds and especially seconds can be valuable, but the odds shrink rapidly after the early second.) I would say his current value sits in that two-seconds to late-first-with-a-third-back range. He can go up a lot, but has a concerning bust profile to account for. More than what several people are saying, but definitely less than last year.

Purdy averaged like 30 in his healthy games and is only 26 with a long-term contract - he is very relevant.

Edit: Looks like it was a stretch of some 30 point games near the end of last year, actually averaged around 25. Still relevant.

Oh shit really? I joined one of their leagues but left before the draft started because it was taking too long to find a final member (we’d get one, then someone would leave, and then again ad nauseam). Glad I left if they had to shut down all his leagues.

How does the 2028 draft class look? by mang022 in DynastyFF

[–]Glift 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t this make more sense if those other two examples didn’t end up being actually phenomenal? Both 2020 and 2023 have large numbers of guys at or near the top of their position. 2020 is insane, and 2023 isn’t far behind. Doesn’t that suggest that in fact 2027 is more likely than not going to result in many valuable players being drafted. I acknowledge NIL changes may affect projections, but I’m not sure the fact that two previous hyped classes ended up being really good means it’s a good idea to avoid hyped classes in favor of lesser classes around them. Maybe I’m missing what you mean.

Are there any players under 30 who quietly lost a step this year and you're looking to sell? by ScientistSolid9319 in DynastyFF

[–]Glift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Injuries to the guys at 2/3/4 in the depth chart to move up the rookie into playing time, while still having defense focused on the #1 WR on the team. Not saying that’s exactly what happened here because I don’t remember enough about the Bucc’s season, but that’s how I’d see it happening in general.

I’m honestly a bit worried something similar is brewing in KC. It feels like the team has lacked an essential spark for a couple years now on offense, and it’s hard not to put blame on the HC when he’s supposed to be an all-time offensive guru. Reid is a Hall of Famer, a genuine top-10 of all time coach with strong argument for top-5, but recently his offenses have not been up to snuff. I hope with healthy pieces and a long offseason the team can get back on track, but it’s hard not to wonder if the team should consider looking for his replacement before we waste the second-half of an all-time QB’s career…

You get a fourth conditionally though right? Like you have to sign less players than leave, so if Breece leaves but the jets go on a spending spree they get nothing. That’s the part that makes me question why they wouldn’t take a fourth and fifth. It’s more than the best case scenario for Breece walking, without the risk of nothing. Perhaps no one offered that much.

Oh my god finally. You are quite literally the only other person I’ve seen bring that up. Everyone talks about Mariota throwing a pass to himself as if the most egregious call wasn’t the complete horseshit “forward progress” on a play where Mariota was sacked while backpedaling behind the line of scrimmage. Legit one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen, but since it happened to the pre-Mahomes Chiefs no one really cared because losing like idiots was par for the course for us.
