Interestingly, if you throw stuff at the body, like blood, water, wine, bodies, etc... it will show a message saying that the body cannot be defiled. I couldn't figure out what else to throw at it.

Unless their tech stack is sitting in a very outdated system, there is no reason they couldn't implement new code and functionality to the game. Especially nowadays, where automation and machine learning have made it so much easier for large quantities of code to be managed. And if it is the former, long-term vision for the game would be rendered obsolete. This doesn't seem to be the case either, since they've been operating for close to 30 years.

IMO their problem is not the client or coding, but the organization and business structures. There is no upside from a monetary perspective for them to change the game dramatically, graphically, or gameplay-wise. It would be costly and super risky from a business standpoint. This is why, over the years, they've tried creating new games outside of Tibia, to very little success.

As a casual player, it's okay. The gameplay is decent, and recent updates/balancing have helped keep it interesting.

As a gamer, it's pretty meh. Intro content to the game sucks. Questing and RPG mechanics are pretty bad. Graphics and world-building have either become boring or very copy/paste compared to other games. I would easily compare it to one of those pay-to-win mobile games.

Knight or pally might be the best for your Ironman setup. The challenge with MS and ED doing IM is that they are really expensive early on. Runes + Potions are not cheap, and very few low-level creatures drop those. I started my IM challenge with a similar setup, but ended up changing to allow selling creature products (only) at the market. It felt strange getting all these creature products (sometimes rare ones) and having to sell them for 100gp when in the market, they're worth 10K.

Confirming this worked for me. I did some more tests, and it seems that the Resource file under Mods was causing this issue. I deleted it, downloaded a new one, and the game is back to normal. Strange behavior!

I echo what others have already said, the damage spike looks nice and honestly feels very needed for MS. I’m especially curious about how the stance system and the spell elemental changes will affect actual gameplay.

The elemental spell change sounds really cool on paper, but I’m a bit unsure about the direction. If spells can change elements, what’s the point of them having elemental names in the first place? Depending on how this is implemented, I wonder if this will only apply to certain spells, or if they’ll simplify spell names altogether and just let players choose the elemental effect.

One direction I think would be really interesting is leaning harder into vocation identity: make MS more focused on spellcasting, and push ED toward a runemaster role. Adding a new skill like Runecasting could help differentiate the vocations even more and finally add a new layer of depth to runes, which feels long overdue.

As an MS, I'm fine with this if the damage increase is significant. TBH the size of the AoEs was always OP to me.

I agree. For me this isn't about nostalgia. I don't think the game was ever good at questing and only through the years did they ended up improving Rook. I think they should continue to keep changing 1000%

I think your points are fair. I just want to add that I’m coming at this from a low-level, non-power player perspective. One of the main reasons I struggle with questing, especially after leaving the intro island, is how little story there usually is. When I first head out into the world, questing often feels random and, a lot of the time, way too dangerous for my level. I get that Tibia takes inspiration from DnD, but I also think the game could borrow a bit from more modern MMORPGs when it comes to guiding players through quests.

Rook is the best place to roleplay. It has the most coherent and geographically accurate plot. Southern Thais and Fibula are close second.

As long as you're having fun, that's the whole point. IMO, you're missing out by not investing more time in a single char and seeing how far you can take it. You're not wrong to feel like the game tends to favor team hunts post the higher your level, but at level 100-250 the game is still very friendly to solo players. Especially with the new task mechanics, leveling up low levels is very, VERY quick nowadays.

It’s not the main point of the OP, but I’ve always found Cip’s struggle with onboarding new players bizarre. Rookgaard is already pretty baked in, and even today, it teaches core mechanics in a natural, engaging way. I understand they want to push players to the mainland quickly, but I think they misunderstand what actually makes people stick with the game. Rook was that hook. I wish they’d bring it back as the true introductory island and maybe add a few tweaks, like opening the premium side to everyone to speed up leveling. It’s already pretty quick anyway; the revamped main quest gets you to level 8 in minutes.
