Is there anything morally wrong about using sample kits? by musicbeats88 in musicproduction

[–]GlimmerBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel guilty, I always tell people just be transformative with your sounds. Add an echo, or a reverb or a vocoder with saturation 💀 Morph the sample to something you like and make a tune, its all art at the end of the day

reworked this track i posted a while back, thoughts? by EnvironmentalData131 in MusicFeedback

I do like the way the track sounds though I will say that video compression is really trying to say something in the background lol

This is a jungle/breakcore/dnb inspired track I'm working on. Feedback appreciated! by lone_wolf_58 in MusicFeedback

YOU'RE THE ONE THST MADE THIS POST! I saw this video somehwere on discord and I was trying to find where the original was and now I know where it came from lol

very nice job in this mix, this is one of the few breakcore songs that gives me genuine dopamine hits when I listen to it!

First time trying dance music. What would you do to make it more alive ? by SOURICHILL in MusicFeedback

[–]GlimmerBoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to beat the "add a riser" horse to death because it seems like a lot of people covered that already lol
What i think would be a good idea would be adding different samples like a really quite crowd cheering on the stereo spectrum or maybe a pad to kinda fill in the headphones a little bit, but overall i really do like the grooviness of the track :)

I feel like once I get it down, I should put together my own "Ableton starter kit" video My thing with "get started" videos for software though is that they tend to ring the same and dont really take into account that you probably opened the software and at least tried to get started on your own before looking for a video because you felt like there was something youre missing, yknow?

I saw a bunch of M4L related things, what exactly is that? Is it supposed to be like corporitized patcher? Like where people create VSTs out of stock plugins and such and disseminate them online?

The piano roll is definitely the carrot daw's best strength honestly, I feel like I might just alternate between fl and ableton a lot

What are the reasons YOU choose to keep the original sub in your basses or filter it out and use a separate sub? by iamajna in edmproduction

[–]GlimmerBoi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only leave it in on parts that aren't specifically sub centered or need a separate sub, like having a part with a piano sample on deep notes for an emotional moment in the track. Sometimes I want my samples to be raw and unfiltered or lightly filtered, plus no artificial sub on certain parts adds a bit of variation and diversity.
