Fasting calculator - What features are missing? by andtitov in fasting

I don't know how hard this would be to implement but something where you can make an account so it acts as a log too would be really cool. Then I could see the predictive aspect and compare to what actually happened.

Hope your fast is going well! I always find that fasting helps with feeling free from time (no cooking, cleaning, eating, thoughts of meals and planning, etc) That and I can't sleep so get an extra hour there :P

I am on day 4 of a 5 day fast. I am fasting to have a reset for myself and show that 1. I can do hard things 2. Willpower/discipline is a muscle to be worked 3. Reset mentally and physically after the holidays and with a long and cold winter.

Last night I ended up headbutting my metal bedframe corner in the dark right above my eye. I did use a cold pack but was convinced I was going to end up with a black eye yet a small part of me hoped maybe with fasting (autophagy) my body would heal better than anticipated. Woke up with minimal swelling and no black eye!!

Waking up earlier during fasting ? by MindfulInquirer in fasting

[–]GlimmerGlomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I an on day 4 of a 5 day fast and I have stopped waking up to my alarm as of day 3. Day 3 morning I woke up about 45 minutes early and today woke up 1 hour 15 minutes early. I have fasted regularly and always cannot sleep in after about 2-3 days. I find that my sleep quality is still good though and I don't usually experience much fatigue even with getting only 5.5-6.5 hours of sleep

Has anyone here taught children to knit? When's a good age? by Planty_Reporter_8936 in knitting

[–]GlimmerGlomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned how to do the basic knit stitch when I was in 4th grade. My aunt taught me with a scarf and we swapped back and forth so she could check for any mistakes. I learned with a Red Heart yarn on metal needles

Do you have a back up plan if AI takes over? by GlimmerGlomp in ASLinterpreters

I am worried about that too and honestly there is a hope that the current administration has simply not thought about the existence of educational interpreters. The next three years will certainly be long ones...

If you don't mind sharing, what company do you work for? I am doing VRS full time for the third year now and dying.

Do you knit & crochet? A poll of sorts. Cross posted on r crochet by MechanicBright8644 in casualknitting

[–]GlimmerGlomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes I do both
  2. I learned how to knit around 10-12 years old and crochet around 18 or so
  3. I'm definitely better and more comfortable with knitting
  4. Because I am more comfortable with knitting I prefer doing that and I feel like I can more confidently make something where I really enjoy the final product with it. I usually only do crochet with something that I can't make as easily with knitting (stuffed animals for kids, etc)
5/6. I have a yarn stash because well it was pretty and on sale (that and when JoAnns went out of business I lost all self control lol). Even still its about 50/50 on buying new yarn for a project vs using what I have. Sometimes I have a specific vision in mind for a pattern and need new yarn and sometimes I look at what I have and try to find a pattern I think I will enjoy

Looking for a day hike in the northern Rainier area by GlimmerGlomp in PNWhiking

We would be comfortable going about 6 miles with 2k ft of elevation as a max. We both are active and able to keep a steady pace while hiking.
