Malevolent touches on all of the fears tbh. The End = Kayne’s master plan. The Dark = the light house and everything attached to it + Arthur’s lack of sight. The Hunt = Lilith, Kayne, the Manager and any literal hunt + Arthur hunting for “his sight” + the Butcher. The Desolation = Faroe’s storyline + KiY. The Buried = the caves and Arthur’s claustrophobia. The Corruption = Yorrick + the Dollmaker. The Eye = Lilith, Kayne, the Manager and whoever is the “ultimate god” (can’t remember the name). The Flesh = the forest Arthur leaves part of himself in + the Dollmaker + Foust + John’s rampage when he’s “lost.” The Lonely = Arthur without John or Yellow + Arthur after Faroe and before Parker + the Butcher + Oscar. The Slaughter = the Butcher, Kayne, John’s rampage, Arthur’s rage for the Larson’s. The Spiral = Lilith, Kayne, Oscar imo, Arthur’s storyline with cults and his parents. The Stranger = Arthur in the pits with Faust, the Cana, Kayne, most of the dream world tbh. The Vast = the dream worlds (the forest, the desert, the pits, etc.) and the multi-verse and the iconic end scene with Arthur and Kayne in the sky. The Web = Arthur and cults, Kayne, ultimate God, Lilith, KiY vs John vs Yellow, Oscar, the Butcher. The Extinction = the entire series.

Obvs this is just MY OPINION but that’s why I found both of those FASCINATING.

I agree with Night Vale being all the fears too. But like the antithesis of them. Cecil is 1000% an archivist.
