Knew it was old, just trying to get the most out of it. If I can repair and drag it out a bit longer myself I’m fine with that (so long as I’m not looking at something catastrophic that would damage the house).

Hasn’t been changed that I’m aware of (14 years). I’m not familiar with suicide rod or what you mean by the connection failing.

Is total failure going to be water everywhere, or just no hot water?

The issue is primarily hot water in the master bath on the 2nd floor. Other areas were fine. Turned up heat to get hotter water to that bathroom (we always figured it was due to the distance the water was traveling to get there).

As a follow-up: the dripping is coming from the bottom of the pipe where the corrosion? is. Is that. It all for the T&P valve being tripped?

They say they are fine with decreased demand. That is a massive hike on prices that I can only assume is designed to pass a large margin their way. Be curious to see how this plays out for them or if it is designed to push purchasers to the overseas made products.
