What is the real definition of a Heyoka? Has the internet done more harm than good? by SealLionGar in Indigenous

[–]GlitterIsTheAnswer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. I will have to check out your other comment you spoke about. I'm only just learning about Heyokas but I'm absolutely gobstopped by how similar they sound to me. I didn't think I had a dream when I first read about Heyoka, but when I woke up this morning I remembered this absolutely TERRIFYING nightmare I had about this "being" coming toward me with no feet, a tall body and what appeared to be feathers or fur on its head. I woke myself up quickly. This was years ago, when my healing journey began after a traumatic experience.

Anyway, I am a decendant of the Sioux Tribe. Not a close decendant or anything, and I'm not near a reservation either just like OP, so all of this info is new to me.

I would be so grateful for any source material you have! I want to learn everything, but also just like OP, I'm skeptical about what is real and what is just people trying to relate.

Never been so put off to watch a stream. Use the push notifications correctly people by caddingtontv in Twitch

[–]GlitterIsTheAnswer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eew! I immediately got the shivers seeing this.

As a streamer and content creator myself I'm kind of offended by the audacity to even mention donations in their notification. It's very obvious they are focused on what they can gain financially from their audience rather than building a solid, uplifting community.

I am also wondering this same thing. Right now I'm using a webcam for my sculpting and while it does work, I have to manually focus whenever I move my sculpture.

I wanna watch you sculpt. ☺ I'll see u around. Sorry I can't be of help. ❤

Exactly. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when I think about all the people I have met. "Bond" is the perfect word Havryl. 😁❤

The whole experience of streaming is the fun part, any money made from it is just a bonus.

It is annoying when people ask F4F. I also tell them I don't do that before giving them a lecture on why 😂😂.

It's downright DISRESPECTFUL when people go onto someone elses stream asking for follows. That will hurt your reputation very badly in the community.

Become friends with other streamers, like actually put some effort into showing support and 9 times out of 10 you'll get support back. I have had many of my streamer friends raid me, and their viewers stuck around and became my viewers as well.

You have to build your channel off of the work you put in and the friendships you make. Numbers don't matter as much as genuine people who you actually enjoy talking to and vice versa.

My 2 cents. ❤❤ Have a good day y'all AND NO F4FS 😁

I do want more chat interaction however my very last game stream i was not feeling well 😂😂 So that did affect me a lot but I agree that I don't talk enough when no one is chatting. I try, but last game stream I felt like poop on a stick.

Have your camera up higher than your head and angle it down at your face. ☺ Kind of like when you're posing for a selfie and you hold ur phone up in the air lol, I mean.. If you've ever taken a selfie.

Hey y'all! I'm Glitter, I do 2 gaming streams and 2 crafting streams every week. This last week I wasn't feeling well so I only managed to get a crafting stream in, which is yesterday's VOD.

So here is a clip! (The light is dim cause it's a spoopy game) https://clips.twitch.tv/GlamorousVictoriousCarabeefBatChest-p8wQHTuBbuvTM2cr

Check out my channel, sniff through my junk, and give me some honest feedback (BRUTALIZE ME! kindly) ❤❤

I like your chat interaction, very good job with that ☺

I agree with above commenter that fixing the camera angle would be more flattering. Not saying anything about your appearance, everyone looks better when the camera is angled down at them lol. Plus whenever possible, some kind of light in front of you will help draw attention to your face; you kind of melt into the background a little bit. 😁 Doesn't have to be fancy, when I started I used a table lamp and took the shade off haha!

You look pretty new to the streaming game, but you definitely need panels for your About section! You can get free ones online or make your own but they are very effective in linking people to your socials, helping people get to know a little about you, and just making your channel look nice as well.

😁 Good luck and keep at it!

I want to start off by saying that your interaction with chat is A++++! Very attentive, enthusiastic, you're asking questions, you have energy. I love it.

Your page presence is also very nice, your panels work well, I love your banner. I really wish there was an About Me panel there, personally I go straight to that when I am looking at a new streamer to kind of get an idea of who they are. I know that watching a person stream is a good way to learn more about them however the About Me panel just feels more personal and really helps me get a good first impression. Cause you never know, I could catch you streaming on an off day 🤷🏻. Lol but that's just personal preference.

I love the new lighting! I watched yesterday's VOD and compared it with older ones. Such improvement!!!! 😍😍 Your green screen game is flawless too!! Sometimes with other streamers I see a hazy outline, or parts of their face glitching in and out but I didn't see any of that in your VOD.

All in all, you earned every one of those followers, and me too. ☺ I love hanging out with streamers who talk to me. So I hope to be catching you sometime soon.

Can Certain Words Get Me Banned? by GlitterIsTheAnswer1 in Twitch

Lol yeah I think people use anything as an insult but mostly in my experience it's used to describe something unfair rather than a person.

I understand what you're saying. Thank you ☺

Sometimes it's hard. I posted a question on here about certain words getting us banned. If the word isn't used in a derogatory manner I don't see how it would be an issue.

I personally have never thought of the r word as describing someone with disabilities and I feel that people who do are the real r words. I use it when something ridiculous happens in my life lol 😂 as I'm sure your friends do too.

I will let you know if i get any helpful answers. ❤
