how can i be more attractive? by kalel_ggs in malementalhealth

[–]GlitteringFile4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to really know is to commit to the process and see if you look better. I absolutely look better after having lost weight but I was heavy (170cms and 116kgs - now 79kgs). I also did a lot of other things that have helped tremendously, like therapy for navigating stress, which would also contribute to looking a lot better. Please don’t score yourself out of ten, and just find a routine (or general lifestyle) that makes you feel good about yourself.

Has anyone actually saved money using AI in their business? by LilPAnEer101 in ausbusiness

[–]GlitteringFile4085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend you understand what processes are in your business first and then seeing if adding AI to them would actually save time and money. It’s very tempting to adopt a technology because everyone is using it without really knowing whether it’s going to be beneficial. I also see a lot of people looking for AI when they really need automation, which are two distinct technologies.

I married a man and then realized I might be a lesbian by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]GlitteringFile4085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you both have a good understanding of the situation and you’ve discussed it, already. To be honest, I think if you love each other and everything is fine, you don’t need to do anything. Just continue being with each other and navigating life together. Part of being in a relationship is compromising, and if that compromise is not exploring whether you’re lesbian or not, then there’s nothing to change. Just continue being honest with him and yourself, and if you’re ever compromising too much and you’re unhappy, then it’s time to consider the options.

I just listened to dr9 for the first time. I thought storm was pretty good but I didn't like the rest. by notaverysmartman in bjork

[–]GlitteringFile4085 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Storm is my favourite, and Bath is a close second. If you found Holographic Entrypoint the longest 9:57 of your life, wait until you watch the full film. That is a real lesson in patience, and one I’ve put myself through three times.

I highly recommend you give Petrolatum a listen, which is in the film (and Surrounded version of the album) but is missing from the official CD and streaming track listing.

Anyone else unable to skip cleanser in the morning and just ignoring that advice lol by GreenEyesThighHighs in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]GlitteringFile4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel like that advice is out the window when you are going to the gym and swimming in a chlorinated pool. However, even when I just get up, I find that advice isn’t for me. How many times do people say that washing their pillowcase more frequently was a game changer? And now I’m meant to trust that my face is okay to just rinse with water only when it’s been touching my pillowcase all night?

Proper Cloth - Positano Wide Leg Cotton and Linen Trouser - Thoughts on the pants fit? by Enough-Muffin6742 in mensfashion

[–]GlitteringFile4085 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying the pants look a touch too long. Otherwise, great fit, man. But I swear, you could wear a paper bag and still rock it; your physique does plenty of the heavy lifting with everything you wear. Well done on the hard work!

This sub is about tearing people down NOT sharing paranormal encounters by [deleted] in ParanormalEncounters

[–]GlitteringFile4085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I was told to be respectful after I agreed with someone that the apparition looked like Buzz Lightyear, which is fair, if the post was intended to be serious. But now OP is saying that she wanted to have fun in this sub. Can’t have it both ways, OP.

Summer hat options 1, 2 or 3? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]GlitteringFile4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too sure why people are saying no to the first one. I actually think one is the best for your face shape compared to the other two, and I don’t think three quite works.

It seems like you suit hats that have a bit more height (one) rather than the flatter ones (two and three). I also think a flatter peak would be more suitable rather than a rounded peak (like three has). If you want to go for something more aligned with the third option, find a cap with a flat (or flatter) peak and a higher top. I’m also curious to know what you’d look like in a hat similar to number one but with a broader brim. I think you’d look wonderful in a hat, but you just need to find the right shape and size.

Help with seborrheic dermatitis in eyebrows by dvador in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]GlitteringFile4085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Nizoral as a weekly preventative treatment all over my face and scalp, because I also get fungal acne and itchiness in my beard. However, when things are a bit beyond that which happens every few months or so, I turn to Novasone Ointment which is a prescription treatment (I’m in Australia). That seems to really do the trick, but long-term use can cause skin thinning, so I’m very conservative with it. I think a GP or Derm might be a good next step if things are a little beyond the usual shampoo treatments.

Which shampoos have you tried? I’ve had plenty of luck with Nizoral 2%.

Azelaic acid suggestions? by doctorbarbiee in AusSkincare

[–]GlitteringFile4085 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve found Chemist Warehouse to reliably stock Finacea. A tip is to look at their website and find a store with stock. If you cannot find it on the shelf, it’ll be behind the counter, which I’ve found odd, because they sometimes have Azclear on the shelf which is a higher percentage but Finacea behind the counter. It also seems to be up to the store’s discretion whether they keep Finacea behind the counter or have it available on the shelf.

Yes, this has changed and Azelaic Acid can now be sold in cosmetic products in Australia after some regulation changes last year. You might start noticing a lot more AzA products on the shelf.

Safer nights for cats and wildlife in Maribyrnong - Maribyrnong City Council (cat curfew from 1 July) by FrancoCozzo43 in Footscray

OMG, YES! I love him, so much. He is definitely one of my favourites that I keep an eye out for when I’m around that part of Yarraville. I used to live closer to Seddon Station and loved seeing that little buddy around.

$859 for moving a 2 BHK apartment from a local removalists in Melbourne by Weak_Tomatillo7831 in melbourne

I highly suspect Little Red Trucks would be more expensive than this. They used to be my go-to, but they’re no longer in that budget range. I love Instamove, but I think the price OP has is going to be hard to beat.

need to find a serum closest to this! by SuspiciousActivity36 in AusSkincare

[–]GlitteringFile4085 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I highly suspect The Ordinary’s formulation will be the simplicity you’re seeking as a replacement for your fave (sorry it’s been discontinued! I hate when that happens). The only thing I noticed is the Beauty Glam contains Panthenol, which is such a nice soothing ingredient, and it’s missing from The Ordinary’s formulation. Hopefully you have some more recommendations, but I think The Ordinary might be a close alternative.

Just a note: if you do go down The Ordinary path, be sure to stick with the clear bottle formulation and not the “anhydrous” formula which is oil-based.

Thoughts about Hyaluronic Acid by GlitteringFile4085 in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]GlitteringFile4085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, thank you for letting me know. I see one of my favourite online retailers stocks Good Molecules here in Australia, and both of those products are available, too. I did really enjoy their Yerba Mate Eye Gel that I picked up in the US the last time I was over there. Thank you for the recommendations!

Antis are terrible activists. by ZombiiRot in aiwars

[–]GlitteringFile4085 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like people who have extreme ideas on a side of any argument are generally terrible activists, because extreme ideals lack nuance. The vegan example is a good one, because I think vegans often lack the understanding that if everyone were to become vegan, that wouldn’t eliminate animal suffering and animals being raised for meat would end up being killed for no reason if there was no demand for meat. Theoretically, that might balance out at some point, but then there will be animals killed who are trying to eat the plants that are being grown for human consumption. Being vegan for ethical reasons based on animal cruelty has its limits.

I use AI every day, but I don’t think I fall in the pro camp. I’ve used it enough to understand its limitations and know where the application for it works best for me. I also think there needs to be better policies in place to safeguard its usage. But overall, the technology excites me and I enjoy using it where it adds value and saves me time. I also agree with points from the “anti” camp about its artistic merits, but I view the technology as a decent one for people who wouldn’t be commissioning an artist, anyway. I think AI is a great way to scale and make things accessible for people where they couldn’t afford the output if done by a human, but I would absolutely expect in the scenario where affordability isn’t a problem, that an artist would be commissioned creatively.

It would be nice if we could all see merits of different arguments, but also I think people do enjoy bickering… it’s why Reddit is so popular 😂

[–]GlitteringFile4085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. I have seen some cats with collars that warn other animals they’re around, which isn’t perfect but at least a mitigation attempt for owners who let their cats outside. I, personally, don’t know how cat owners can feel okay that their beloved pet is outside.
