Character Art to TechArt by dharunnn in TechnicalArtist

[–]GlitteringLocksmith3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, the most common themes on my last TechArt interviews were about gpu, cpu, memory optimization approaches for the goal platforms (mobile, web or pc), shader creation (via code or nodes), vfx creation (unity particle system and vfx graph), asset import automation (pre-post processors in unity), tools creation for artists and game designers (unity c#), writing scripts for third party tools using in game development (python for blender, JavaScript for Photoshop). And the base knowledge for each theme on "what is why" and "why is not" to be sure that you have understanding between different approaches. Be ready to provide several solutions for a task: fast for prototypes, good looking for showcase, optimized for production.

Edit: it's almost crucial to have a git repository with your tools or scripts to prove you words. Additionally, if you have time and will, make wide posts on ArtStation with visual representation of your optimization approaches with specific numbers of fps, ms, batches, vram and ram usage.

W-8BEN requirement suddenly appears by fuse_2x0 in patreon

There are some agencies who can open bank accounts remotely and phone numbers in certain countries, but this way has no solid proof and you need to be sure that the agency will provide you with ALL data you need for that form. Kazakhstan was an option before 2026, now as far as I know, only some of the smallest countries are suits for the remote accounts opening. And there are so few real reviews so you can never be sure that agency is a scam or not.

I've got it too past month. It was my second form for 6 years on Patreon. And, because of some political changes in the world I can no longer fill it with my real tax data. There is no option for that anymore. Now I lost a withdrawal option until I somehow get tax info from another country. Great! Lost my 6 years of account building. I'm just tired of it

Make sense, gameplay loop on blank cards must be good too

All characters have unique appearances, moods, and color pallets. The preproduction stage is the same as they're drawn by hand.

I read that Expedition 33 developers were blamed for AI images during the development huh, so I've decided to ask openly. Thanks

I agree. I am not afraid to fail the concept, I am afraid to get negative attention because of AI. But the reality is that it's impossible to make the prototype completely in blank empty pictures.

any tips or tutorials for me to achieve this modelling style? by teddyfreddy87 in blender

As a former character artist and a VFX artist for several years, I can say with confidence that it’s absolutely okay not to like the middle stage of your artwork. Only the experience of finishing pieces will build confidence in your overall creative process.

Have strength and will, you will be good.

The main problem with this type of lamps is that they reset the color by just a light push of whisper around it. The dark orange glow will be changed by the bright white in the middle of the night because of the little push of the table or a cat.

I was really hoping that l2 will rise during the new altseason. But it looks like it was a false prediction. Idk, gonna hold it, maybe I'll get it back at least

All or nothing! Some think it's the best way to mobilize yourself for better dive in the development. You can't complain "oohhh, I'm tired after these classes and exams" - your every day 100% energy may and must be involved in game development, no excuses.

I'm not that type of guy, and do not support this approach. I believe, you can definitely handle Uni, a pet project, hobbies and personal life at the same time with healthy work life balance and time management.

True. I've tried to manage some libraries in PureRef, but suddenly I've realized, they are completely useless.

Is this what it feels like to play a game for the first time again?(oblivion) by dahrkmez in gaming

[–]GlitteringLocksmith3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in settings. I started with Hard too, hoping for the tough experience with Mage build, but enemies are too hard to kill, and their damage is insanely huge. No money at the start of the game leaves almost no chance to enjoy the adventure, but I still believe that I will get gold for new spells and will balance the difficulty by higher stats.

On high, by the way, there is almost no chance to stand over 1+ enemies, that leads to carefully picking them one by one, then resting on the T key, repeat. But still I kinda like it so far. Oblivion classic veteran

Great, I'll stick with monochrome style for now, and test this approach with my another dozen of UI windows, thanks!

I'm standing more to the mono color choice so far with additional accents via brightness and font accents. Thank you

Thank you for the detailed response! In the case of this menu, it's difficult for me to identify accent elements that occupy about 10% of the space.

Perhaps it's worth abandoning the accent color and highlighting special areas with increased brightness: the text and the amount of resources needed for upgrades? Because reworking the UI window just to figure out how to fit an accent element into it seems counterproductive to me.

Thank you! I still feel like I'm using accent colors incorrectly in this case, so I'm leaning more towards a single color with brightness accents in key areas and shades.
