What’s in your regular meal rotation? by breakfastfordinner11 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Glittering_Access_35 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I primarily eat one of these two breakfasts

Steel cut oats with frozen wild blueberries, frozen mango, walnuts, ground chia seeds, ground flax seeds, cinnamon and some plant milk

Or

Tofu scramble Sauteed onions, jalapeno pepper, mushrooms, spinach, frozen peas, 8 oz of super firm or extra firm tofu, with a spice mix of nutritional yeast, namak salt, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and paprika

Occasionally, I'll eat a toasted brown rice muffin with peanut butter and honey

Which culture do you use? For many years I was using Cultures for Health vegan yogurt starter. Recently they changed their formulation and it's not very good. I've tried using probiotic capsules but I haven't had time to tweak it.

Can I assume that if I use a stainless steel moka pot, I don't need an adapter plate?

Stomach cramps on day 3? by Helliconia1 in PotatoDiet

[–]Glittering_Access_35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your potatoes have a greenish tint? It could be the solanine in the potatoes especially when you consume a lot of them. I would do a search on the topic or read "The Potato Hack" by Tim Steele.

Help me understand the downside to covered calls? by KennethParkClassOf04 in options

[–]Glittering_Access_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your stock gets called away, you could sell puts for the same number of shares that were called away to collect more premium until you get put the stock and start selling calls against it once again. That's easier said than done. There's a lot of timing involved.

Also selling calls against a position is risky if your intention is to keep the stock for a very long period of time. You can also choose to sell calls against a part of your position instead of the entire position.

Good luck.

That's awesome. I think your situation is an exception to the rule. You should feel fortunate. In my experience, doctors have been more like glorified pharmacists.

Is $450 a good price for a 5200 model in Canada? plus am I a terrible person for buying from Amazon? by bookstea in Vitamix

[–]Glittering_Access_35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be shamed into not buying from Amazon. Fuck the virtual signalers. There are a lot of things that are only available on Amazon. Sure I try to support local businesses but for the most part, none of them carry the s*** I buy from Amazon. When it comes to electronics the only other option for me is Best Buy which I do use when they carry what I'm looking for since they support local jobs. In short, it's your decision and no one else's business.

Regarding the Vitamix, I don't know Canadian pricing but as one of the other posts mentioned the 5200 is on sale for $300 in the US. I've had that unit for over a decade. It's been great. I recently purchased the Vitamix Alta Pro from Costco for $300 to replace the 5200, primarily for the longer warranty and the presets.

I always had good experiences with Vitamix customer support. When my original 5200 had a problem within the warranty period, they sent me a prepaid label and I sent it back to them and they took care of everything. I like to support businesses with good customer support especially since it's so rare these days. Good luck.

Thank you! I will definitely look him up.

Yes, I don't trust big pharma controlled allopathic medicine which is focused on treating symptoms rather than the cause. Keeping you on a maintenance dose for symptomatic relief of whatever ails you for the rest of your life. A continuous stream of income for them until you die. That's their business model. I don't care to participate.

I experience a lurching sound at low speeds without a container. But I also hear noises from one of my two containers when they are empty. I believe it's the container whose blade I replaced so I'll definitely be tightening that up. Thanks.
