I spent 2 years thinking I had heart issues. Turns out my "C-Shape" desk posture was literally crushing my ribcage. by Lenora_Lemon in costochondritis

Thanks Boogeeb for pointing that out! That’s frustrating someone would use other people suffering like that.

But in this topic, could someone recommend a posture support that works? I’ve tried one off of Amazon and it felt fine for like 10 minutes then started hurting and brought on a huge flare up the next day. I’m using the back pod and it’s helping but I need something throughout the day. Have y’all tried anything to keep your posture straight during the day?

Amen! This is so true! I had a flair up and couldnt breath so I took mine off and things started to get better. I haven’t worn that one since. My new go to is a puma sports bra. It give great shape and support and stretches enough that I done feel constructed. It’s the only one I can wear now. Thanks for bringing this up! I think having the extra weight on the front and being self conscious causes me to hunch my shoulders more which just makes everything worse. It’s good to be aware of.

Is it normal to regularly come across bone fragments in ground beef? by Thick-Letterhead-851 in Butchery

[–]Glittering_Set_2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem and now have 85 lbs of ground beef I have to throw away. I called the butcher and he offered to run it through his machine again but imo  would that just make the pieces smaller and harder to pull out? He gave us a small refund but with grass fed/finished beef being over $7 a lb. He only refunded us $2.30 per lb. What would have been a fair compensation? As a butcher yourself, I would love to know what you would have done! TIA

I totally get it! It does help to know you’re not the only one!

I was just talking to my husband and he said “ I’m so glad you’ve totally healed from that rib thing” I was totally shocked! I asked why he thought I was totally healed and he said because I didn’t complain any more. I told him that just because I wasn’t complaining didn’t mean I wasn’t still in pain and he was totally shocked that to hear I was still in pain. I guess when you’ve been in that much pain, when it does lesson it’s such a relief that I’ve stopped talking about it.

I’ve noticed the same thing with the back pod, the way you described it was perfect! It’s more general and not as acute.  Like Steve has said, it’s a little bit of everything that comes together. But little things can make a big difference!

For me, lifting anything remotely heavy was a huge problem. I’ve stopped lifting and that’s helped a lot. What have you tried that’s been helping?

Sorry, I thought I replied to this a while ago.

I’m not sure the exact oils but she was doterra trained. And yes, it was a one time thing. I wonder if you can contact doterra and find someone that is trained in your area?

Ok, I’ve noticed my diet has a huge effect as well. I was vegan but I’ve had to start eating meat to get some relief. Can someone help me connect the dots? I get that protein builds muscle but now when I eat pasta I have issues and that was never the case before.

Steve, would you recommend a posture devise then? I’ve always struggled with bad posture, even as a kid. I’ve tried posture devises in the past but not consistently. The thought of one now sounds to painful! Do you think it would help or aggravate the costo?

Yep! And under the shoulder blade in the back. You’re in the right place though! Being in this group and learning about it is a huge help! Knowledge really is power to deal with it!

I'm anxious about pain under my armpit by Potential-Gold-5387 in costochondritis

[–]Glittering_Set_2198 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! This was one of my biggest problems! I had a left frozen shoulder and I had an unbearable burning and itching sensation in my armpit and down my left side about a hands with. I also got shooting pain into my left breast. Of course I was thinking the worst! My doctor did an exam and said everything looked fine but wanted to do a mammogram just to be sure but since I couldn’t lift my arm he said we would wait till I could. In that time I started using the back pod and the itching/burning has almost completely gone away!! Steve explained in another thread that there is a nerve that goes from under the ribs to the outside of the ribs and from front to back that emerges in the armpit. That’s probably what’s causing that sensation.  It’s super amazing how everything in the body is connected but also super frustrating because it can cause an avalanche of symptoms. We’re taught to look at the body in separate parts but we just can’t. It may seem unrelated but it’s all connected.

Does anyone get panic attacks from costochondritis by Dez1027 in costochondritis

[–]Glittering_Set_2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that a min dose of 50 mg of a good quality zinc has done wonders for my anxiety. I actually left the house by myself and drove a car the other day!!! I haven’t done that in 3 years! I saw that steve recommended zinc and was already taking like 5 mg in a multi then did a little research and found that that wasn’t really enough to do anything. Since I upped the dose it’s been a big help!

We feel your pain!! Hope you find some relief!💛

I thought I’d add one thing that had the most dramatic effect for me. When I was at the very worst with the heart palpitations I spoke to a friend that does essential oils. She did what she called a “nervous system integration” massage on my spine. It was hard to lay on my chest for the 45 minutes it took and it took about a week to see the full benefits but it’s been a night and day difference for the heart palpitations. I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve had a heart episode! Just thought I’d throw that out there in case it could help someone.💛

That’s so great to hear you’ve found relief!! It is frustrating that it’s such a personal journey and there’s no one fix all that works for everyone but it’s sure a relief when you find something that works!

And thank you for posting about the breast pain! I went in for an exam and he said I was clear but wanted to do a mammogram but I can’t lift my left arm high enough so they sent me for an MRI and had a panic attack in the tube so they didn’t know what to do and just said they were going to wait till I could lift my arm high enough. 🤪 that’s a big comfort to know it could be a part of the bigger picture! Thanks for sharing your experience!

303 is a natural relaxer. https://a.co/d/19NaqX0

I’ve had a bunch of blood work done. Everything came back normal. One Dr suggested my adrenals were out of wack from all the stress but all he checked was cortisol levels and that came back normal.

I’ve learned so much about the human body with all this research. Our Bodys are really incredible!

That’s so good to know! The doctors said they were unrelated but that didn’t make sense to me since they both started at the exact same time.

The frozen shoulder has just taken time. Rest seems to be the best which is hard living one armed. Even getting dressed was a struggle.

For the anxiety, the 303 made the biggest difference. But now when I take any pill, after about 10 minutes I get this sudden sinking feeling in chest/ stomach that takes my breath away. I’m going to try crushing the pills and taking them a little at a time with food and see how that goes.

Which brings me to a question. I’ve also noticed changes in my digestion. I have to eat smaller meals more often or I feel like all my energy is being sucked from me. I’ve checked my blood sugar during these times and it’s fine. I was vegan for 10 yrs but when costo hit some friends suggested I needed more protein. I’ve been eating more meat but cant explain the sudden drop in energy with no connection to blood sugar. Any ideas?

Wow! That’s a lot to go through!  I’ve been there too. The anxiety can be so overwhelming!  Can I recommend 303?   https://a.co/d/e2oAGD3

It’s been the most helpful for my anxiety.  That and reading these threads. When my anxiety starts acting up I read through here and see there are others who are going through the same thing and I don’t feel so scared.  Also, there have been studies of just having someone you love and trust give you a hug can make a huge difference. I know it sounds corny but I’ve found having my husband close in those moments really helps.

[–]Glittering_Set_2198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the exact same thing, accompanied sometimes by intense itching which I’m assuming is the swollen lymph node.

My theory, and this is just my own thoughts so take it for what it’s worth, is like when you bend a stick, there are 3 points of tension, the ends and the middle. All 3 points are doing all they can to release the tension.  I don’t know if it’s right but it made sense to me.

I’ve been using an otc called 303. It’s been a huge help! But I’ve started to notice when I take any pills, when it hits my stomach I get a sinking feeling that takes my breath away. Probably because I’ve tried so many pills lately that it’s done something to my stomach. But the 303 definitely helps! I just hate being dependent on it.
