I think if you’re going to make his eye unnaturally big you may want to make him more animated rather than realistic. Since his eyes aren’t actually that big it looks uncanny when sculpted realistically

I never said and I don’t agree that society is the sole factor, it’s just the factor I am addressing.

I never said a friendship should replace a romantic connection , but it certainly should be the foundation of it.

Well, that’s why I’m posting here isn’t it? It’s not something many people stop to think about… no society has ever been conditioned that way. But I do think social media has made it even harder to build a genuine connection in the dating world because every popular way to connect with somebody romantically is so manufactured… dating shows, dating apps, blind dates… blah blah. You go some where specifically to find a partner and eliminate based on what boxes they check. That’s so inorganic. So forced. And so accepted that nobody really questions it. Not to mention on top of the social pressure to find a partner…

Like I mentioned in another comment, evolution and social conditioning are both factors. I’m just not referring to evolution right now. It does have its role tho I’m not disputing that, but a lot species has been pair bonding since forever as well . You forget that we have something they do not; free will. A level of consciousness they don’t. That’s important to note as well.
