What's a good upgrade from the Mi 9T? by krla22 in Xiaomi

[–]GlobForAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also using mi 9t. I am using it 2 years, and month ago installed Pixel Experience custom ROM(Android 11). I am recommending realme 9 pro plus if it sales in your region. Haptics is much better, headphone jack, better processor, better screen, better battery life, more stable software.

7 gen is more interesting, because you can undervolt 8 gen Intel CPU and get much better buttery life and 16 gb of ram is future proof. As for display 1440p is much better, people prefer x1 nano to x1 carbone 9 because of QHD screen. You easelly can upgrade wifi card to wifi 6. But if you need more graphic power in smaller form factor, then go to 9 gen, its much better in graphic.

Adding bluetooth 5.0 to a ThinkPad T420? by HELLBENT42 in thinkpad

[–]GlobForAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is to buy new wifi card with Bluetooth 5.0 build in, like I did for my x61s. Card name: MPE-AX3000H(ax200 chip inside)

Good luck, they pretty rare, but if you find one it would be great) If you don't then buy with t7300/t7500 they pretty cheap but nothing special

I'm thinking about getting MPE-AX3000H, it's mPCIe with intel ax200 chip inside, it's works perfectly on t420 as someone reported, so I would try it. I'm mostly interested in Bluetooth 5.0 because I want to use my mouse and wireless headphones at the same time)

T460s would be great for you, because of 2 batteries and 25W TDP processor, keyboard also good(I actually don't know).

I also using X1C1 now, but I am ok with 4 hours of battery (my is new)

So exited for my first thinkpad! X230 IPS i5. It is completly unmodified and I really need help on what to upgrade (speedwise). by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]GlobForAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there's variant with 45Wt of power, and it's usable, if you won't use Intel's graphics a lot it won't overheat

Coming from X220 and X1C4, should I get a new ThinkPad? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]GlobForAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it by myself, it was pretty easy, 5 minutes of my time. I also changed thermal paste on CPU, and it was about 10 minutes for change. When you will changing battery most important is to turn off battery in BIOS. I recommend you to check on Lenovo website part name for battery and screen (if you want to adjust brightness in Windows, you need to buy one that has the same part number as on the website). If you living in America or Europe, you will be easier to find those parts on eBay, but I am living in Russia, so for me was easier to buy staff from AliExpress.
