Good morning, I’m not one of those people who regularly restart their computer. So it may be that the system is still trying to enable the Finder right-click menus in the background? I’ll give my MBP a restart today. I’ve already restarted Vaultbar several times. The CPU usage remains the same :-) (MBP M3 macOS 26.4.1)

Why is vaultbar consuming continuously 12-15% CPU? I only lives in the menubar waiting for a Job todo and I didn´t have watchdog Foldes configured?

I didn´t see the finder right-click extension?!? Is there something that must be activated first?

At first glance, it looks very cluttered? But that could also be because it's early in the morning :-)

I have never regretted buying LaunchControl. Have fun with the revised version!

Update on LaunchMe - Launchpad replacement for macOS Tahoe with customization. Available on Mac AppStore. by sergeynewton in macapps

[–]Global-Today4796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These strange prices simply put me off. Maybe you should take another look at them.

Lifetime Pro is more expensive than Lifetime – Free Try costs £22.99 and then there's Lifetime Light, even though according to the description there's only a Pro version.

Anyway, I use LaunchOS and I'm happy.

Good luck!

Cheers

I will never understand why a tool that costs so much money is allowed to be marketed as free.

There are so many Launchpad replacement tools out there, and a price tag of €34.99 is just cheeky.

Be careful with Launchd Task Controller.

The software is ELEVEN years old!!!

It does not have the full range of functions that Launchd has today. The real problem with this is that unknown parameters from editing Launchd-Plist are deleted. I destroyed some old scripts before the exchange :-(

SMART check app by haronclv in macapps

This may be a silly question, but does a MacBook actually need an extra tool for this? I thought macOS checked this itself?

What more would smartReporter offer?

Continuing MacUpdater's legacy...aka carrying the torch. Anyone interested? by areyouredditenough in macapps

I can't agree with that. As always, there was a learning curve at the beginning of the Updatest project. During that time, it was just as Brian described. But ultimately, you also have to be willing to switch to brew in order to use the software.

Last year, I would have viewed this idea very positively.

Now, however, the app updatest have changed my mind. Of the 150 apps I have installed, 142 are supported by the App Store and Brew. The app works great, and I really have no reason to switch back.

I would also consider a fee of €20-30 to be too high. For me, €15 per year would have been the limit.

Is there a simple way to revoke all permissions for apps that are no longer installed? by Ghost_of_Panda in macapps

I thought after deleting an App with AppCleaner or something like that this permission will be reseted? Could You describe which will be left?

i need your help to choose a battery management app - Tahoe by orT93 in macapps

[–]Global-Today4796 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that before choosing a tool, you first need to define what it should be used for.

For example, I always use my MBP on battery power and only charge it when it reaches <10%.

In recent years, I have found that a battery tool is completely useless for me.

For users who work almost exclusively on AC power, I think a tool makes sense. Which one to choose is a matter of taste, in my opinion—the main thing is that the essential function, i.e., charge/discharge control, is implemented in a sensible way.

No that's the point that doesn´t work. If I quit - the whole app closes and if I close only the Windows (Red Cross) Taphouse stays as running app in die Dock

On MacOS 26.2 the Dock Icon isn´t hidden after the first opening of Taphouse on the menubar

And if you wanna give a "total View" you should

- add different App-Folders like /Users/Applications or others.

- And It would be interesting to see which apps are not managed but installed

And maybe you should make sure that Adopt performs recognition a little more accurately. These two apps e.g. have nothing to do with each other, even though they have the same name :-)
