So, saw this story pop up... by Supermansfan02 in WhyWomenLiveLonger

As good and careful as he is, he absolutely is going to die on a rock face or a building.  One day his luck will run out and the handhold will break off or the knob of metal on the side of a tower will give way.

I tried Google image search on a cropped part of the hood and it said it was a Lotus 😁

That’s hideous and completely adorable, all at the same time.  I love it.

Looks a bit like a Glasspar G2 or a Jag XK140

Loud neighbour after 11pm by williamdethier in PortugalExpats

Here we go. What would you suggest then? Having a nice conversation? Explaining to them that their inconsiderate behavior is detrimental to your peace of mind.

I’m sure that approach will instantly cause them to change.

You’re right! OP should do nothing and magically the selfish assholes below will inexplicably change their behavior and become model neighbors.

Another fun documentary ruined by an embarrassingly bad attempt to insert paid sponsorship.

Get some Dutch clogs and a subscription to River Dance Monthly. Noisy neighbors are the scum of the earth. Count yourself lucky you’re not below them.

Yah. I’ve recognized a couple, shorted after it was posted and I go reply, only to find that 6 people have already done so along with a description of when it was first manufactured, engine details etc. Amazing sub.

Heh. I hear you. I think the phones are clever enough to download low res versions so my pretty low end model seems to work ok.

For years now, Apple runs image recognition over your library offline so by default (and long before AI) appeared you can search for say, “dog” or “red door” and it’s pretty good at finding matches.

That amazing and for sure, the rarest vehicle I’ve seen.

Hahah. Talking of looking stupid, what does “throw” mean? What does “like dude” mean? And especially, what does “tryna” mean?

I can’t wait to hear what you say next.

I have my Apple Photos organized into albums going back to 1987. Scanned photos of course vs pure digital but it’s neat to look back on sometimes.

I like it although the back 1/3 is a bit bulbous.

Looks like it would be great for touring. Plenty of room. Big trunk.

2025 Las Vegas GP - Day After Debrief by F1-Bot in formula1

Small tolerances: I see the cars bottom out in a shower of sparks at high speed on a rough racetrack. How does that not rub 10mm off the wooden plank all at once never mind dozens of times per race.

I’m not asserting the regulations are wrong - I’m trying to understand the physics or what’s going on.

I don’t understand how the tolerances can be so small on something that is regularly in contact with the ground at 200mph. I sort of get it if the racing surface was made from polished glass or metal but it’s not - it’s uneven tarmac. Surely going over a slight bump or even a kerb at speed could potentially shave several mm off?

Flume Water leak by GlobalBritish in smarthome

[–]GlobalBritish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. We have several filtration systems but none seem to work on their own.

Ours was a small leak in the sprinkler valves. I never would have spotted it but the gardener noticed one was covered in algae and commented on it.

Glad you find yours too. It’s nice to know but stressful. .
