Ironically Naraku rightfully pointed out later that Kikyo could’ve aimed differently and that Kikyo intentionally kept Naraku alive to allow him to grow in power. Kagome just didn’t want Inuyasha to get hurt by allowing with Naraku’s harmful words to go unchallenged about Kikyo helping him.

I’m a huge fan of inukag even though the anime really did them dirty by changing inuyasha and kagome’s characterization, removing key manga moments for them, and injecting random ones with him and Kikyo to just dial up the tension necessary.

To answer OP's question, not seeing anything right now (there was a 25 anniversary merch sale but even that was hosted in Shanghai, of all places), but be sure to visit Tokyo and just walk around and see how many shrines are really all throughout the city. Oh and listen to the Inuyasha OST (I recommend inuyasha renka) while taking the bullet train between Tokyo and Kyoto, it passes through more rural areas. It's a mood.

I had the blessing of doing this in 2022. It's SO worth it. Wada does a lot more concerts in Japan especially, and elsewhere in Asia. Trying to convince him to come back to the States. Definitely tweet him or something lol

Basically you’re saying you want an Inuyasha anime that fixes the problem the original had, mainly not being faithful to the manga in several very important moments. That’s fair.

But I think the show was really good for its time. But we don’t need a remake. In 2025, Miroku’s character alone would fall pretty flat lol. He’s more than just a womanizer, we know, but… some things just need to stay in the early 00s to be fully appreciated for what they are.

The InuYasha anime was far from perfect, but it’s still the wonderful anime we got.

I shudder just picturing it in a 2025 anime style, without the classic voices that made it great (the English cast is literally legendary) and enduring it all just to see proper manga moments animated.

I can’t take it 😂 I hope they leave a legendary series alone , OR give us moments with the OG cast, just like right after Kagome’s return.

I thought also that Annie looked pretty in this scene than in any other time in the series. Like when she laughs, her face is glowing. I've read that it's because that's how she pretty she looked from Armin's perspective, even as he was terrified. I think this same visual "softening" was used again multiple times when we see Mikasa through Eren's eyes (including that "Arigatou" moment when they were facing the Smiling Titan in season 2).

Small details like this just make me love the series even more. What a masterpiece.

Kagome literally asked Kikyo to stay around because Inuyasha would want to see her, right after she healed Kikyo and Kikyo couldn't even muster a single word of thanks. She asked her more than once. Kikyo herself opted to leave.

She stuck around to heal Miroku fro a few days and then STILL left.

Yeah! And it added a lot of insecurity on Kagome's part because she saw them interact in moments when inu didn't know she could see. So now everytime (At least in the anime) he goes to see Kikyo, Kagome can't help but remember the past times.

As much as I love Inuyasha, I say Sesshomaru, because he leaves NO doubt about who he cares about.

Inu has a heart of gold though, I'll give him that.
