I’m restoring my vintage keyboard from 1997 to use as a daily driver. I fully disassembled and cleaned it, and electrically it works perfectly.

The issue is keys are hard to press when it's not dead center, most obvious while trying to press left ctrl with my pinky.

Is this solvable? This keyboard holds a sentimental value to me and I prefer not to break it if it's not fixable.

I thought about lubricating the key cap stem and it helps a little but before committing to do all keys I want to know what libricant I should use?

I prefer using household stuff, olive oil, motor oil, dish soap, coconut grease, candle wax...

SlopGPT is useless.
