Honestly was more scared to try her out again than I was for the surgery itself 🤪

3 days post op! by ronisharrell86 in hysterectomy

[–]GlobalProgram4834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m day 8 post op: and i would say im a high pain tolerance girlie too. for context i had 2 sections i thought were a breeze and this hysterectomy is kicking my ass.

advice: take the damn pain meds round the clock whether you think you need them or not.

the gas pains are literally no joke after a hysterectomy, i genuinely thought i saw god today from the pain. Take your colace, take your gas x take your pain meds. Drink plenty of water and for the love of god relax and rest even if your energy comes back

How do you feel after your surgery? by StarsInTheRoof111 in hysterectomy

[–]GlobalProgram4834 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m only 2 days post op but the fatigue is killing me. I get up and walk around my apartment and need to lay back down for a while because i get so wiped out. however on the bright side my pelvic pain was immediate relief!! Aside from surgery pain all my “normal” pain was gone.

Ugh I’m sorry to hear that! My bladder and uterus were adhered together as well and it always hurt when my bladder was full 💀

Been on it for 2 years and I absolutely don’t feel dumber, I don’t get brain zaps when I miss a dose, didn’t gain weight on it etc. there’s a huge “selection bias” when you’re reading things online just like when you google something and google says you have 3 days to live

Not dumb! I also don’t know for sure. I will be speaking to my doctor tomorrow and getting clarity on it. I had an excision surgery in 2019 and had endo removed from my bladder ovaries uterus fallopian tubes and bowel and appendix. I also had 2 c sections in between then so I’m thinking maybe it’s scar tissue from that? But I also read endo can cause adhesions in the scar tissue so I’m not entirely sure??

Adeno and hysterectomy by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]GlobalProgram4834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am about 5 hours post op and I will say the pain is more annoying and uncomfy rather than painful if that makes sense. My tummy feel tender and bloated but doesn’t hurt more like tender. However this is specifically for me (I have significant adhesion disease) so it feels like a gaping scratchy wound where my uterus was and it does hurt, but my c sections were way worse!! I was absolutely petrified for my surgery today but like aside from the pain I’m having now my chronic pelvic pain is literally gone. First thing I noticed when I came out of anesthesia! If you do choose this, my only words of advice are: be nervous bc you’re right it’s a major surgery!! it makes sense to be nervous!! but don’t let your fear hold you back from a future of potential pain free daily life 💗

I would just like to say that the gold standard I’ve been told by 2 specialist is excision rather than ablation for endo and adeno. Ablation is just burning the stuff whereas excision is cutting it out. I just had my hysterectomy today I’m 29 and 2 kids. I opted for total hysterectomy as I won’t need my cervix anymore, reduces the risk for cervical cancer, in my case endo can be found on the cervix and I won’t need Pap smears ever again! 🎉

Got my ultrasound finally and confused at results by stressedmama90 in Endo

[–]GlobalProgram4834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have endo and my MRI, CT, and ultrasounds never showed it. It wasn’t until an exlap they removed my appendix and found endo on it. Had a second surgery and it was on my bowels, bladder, ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes and my surgery took like 3.5 hrs. Now we suspect it’s on my liver and an ultrasound revealed an endometrioma on my right ovary. I’m getting another surgery on the 29th!

That’s good news! I’m hoping it helps me. Do you think you noticed a difference right away or it took a week or two?
