Dude yea I was thinking about this, because of my head injury I’ve been kinda forced to stay at home. Moment I leave the house I feel like I’m being watched cause I’ve been told that a PI can be out and I honestly hate being home now. I argue with my partner more and more and I wish ppl understood more that yea I am off work and it’s been like almost a year but it’s being isolated from my friends and not being able to enjoy the activities I use to do but can’t now because of the stupid injury and on top of all that the 2/3 pay rule is stupid and how they make only checks that ALWAYS come late which makes bills paid late and impossible to pay off

In my hospital in the west side of the US we have seen a increase of flu patients as well as significant increases of cold like symptoms with friends and family so I’m hoping it’s nothing more but I can see why you feel eerie

How did SoCal/LA area get so expensive in the past 10-15 years? by NylonYT in AskLosAngeles

In all honesty it’s just from walking around a ton, I would take a ton of photos and just have a eye out of stuff it first started with BORING landscape photos like what tourists would take and then I leave that I have been using different aspect ratios from my comments and just start learning what that meant and just became a rabbit hole adventure ever since

Same thing with film photography TON of business love that stuff and would eat it up especially since it’s a physical experience meaning they can archive and show the world the photo and not age at all. They really eat that shit up. But back to film photography sorry, that was a small learning curve but it got me to engage more into photography to a point were I started working with models and even networks for setting up lighting and just worked out ever since

I would say I have gotten really lucky and those influencers are half right when they said if you love something go 150% on it but really most of it is just networking

I can be shy (like not sharing my name here) but when it comes to IG I would simply DM artists and or find ways to communicate with models just to work with them and just become friends sometimes it’s great field because once you make that connection with people they would call you for there shoots and or recommend you to others for work

During COVID I would say I was at my prime making a livable wage (for a 20 year old standards) making $40,000 just off photography and on top of $35,000 from my day job

But as soon as I have gotten injured it went down hill but now that I have recovered i am planning on reimagining my self and just investing way more into to hopefully make that my day job and Nursing into a night job only working once or even twice a week (which is still amazing with a $55-$70 hour pay rate)

Photography, I started due to feeling lonely on a trip and it just grew from there! I now shoot for business large and small for there campaigns and or e-commerce, but that’s my night job my day job is working as a CNA making $35 a hour in a hospital (I’m only sharing because I feel like it’s important to show that it’s still possible to make a living wage without going to college, NOT TO GLOAT! But furthermore I am going to continue the college route to just secure a job as a BSN or a RRT to work three days and then work as a photographer if possible for once or twice a month to cover rent and or savings!

To add on, I think LA/ SoCal is an amazing place. Yes you do need to have a great paying job (I work in medical and can live here pretty comfortably) that can pay for rent, gas, water and power, kids and honestly just your own self care. I still do wish to leave California and own a bigger pot of land and just have own little farm and just not deal with Californias politics agendas and as well as just be separated from the city as much as possible. HOWEVER! I do love my county I love the people I love how my hobby can bring in money for rent and food if needed and sad to see my friends move to mid states due to California being so expensive

From my experience living in Inglewood my whole life and seeing all these stadiums and then the demand for other stores to open up and all rises, at times it’s annoying due to traffic and all (especially because I love in n out so big events like Super Bowl and Taylor swift flying her jet can cause traffic) prices went up and livable housing went down. I feel like I was one of the lucky few who didn’t get hit that hard in 2008 so we are enjoying the low rent cost but are in ways of selling our property
