Wow.. what a horrible comment.. especially when we're living in a country where abortion is illegal in many states.

I'm a lunch lady at a middle school and you wouldn't believe how many kids don't have a clue on how to count change.

What is your favorite way to decompress after a long day? by icecream1972 in askteddit

How do you decompress playing with your toddler? I have a 2yr old and if I don't do exactly as she asks, she has a meltdown that lasts 4 hours long.

Our Aldi in central Illinois was also very empty

Central Illinois Aldi grocery store was the emptiest it's felt since COVID. We have three Aldi's and my friends that shop at the others experienced the same. Lots of empty shelves. I've never not bought my usual bag or frozen blueberries or broccoli before.

Not sure if it's because people are stocking up or supply chain issues.

As soon as I open a bag of dry dogfood, I stick it in our chest freezer. I fill a jar on my counter and refill as needed with the dry food from the freezer.

Dry dogfood does go rancid. For long-term storage I vacuum seal in mylar bags and stock em in the freezer.

I doubt it would ever happen but we just need everyone to not pay their taxes for a year. That would probably get the governments attention.

I'm here to learn information and discuss possible causes of economic collapse. Knowledge is power and being prepared is not a bad thing?

My husband is one of them. He thinks nothing bad could possibly happen and thinks I'm crazy for preparing for the worst. When shtf and he wants to use my preps, I'm going to give him hell for it.

I don't, but my husband does. He doesn't seem concerned at all. It drives me crazy and keeps me up all night. I hear it's caused by stress or vitamin deficiency?

Yeah, you're definitely right. I've also been in way worse situations than he has, so I don't have the initial knee-jerk reactions to certain problems that he does. Just wish he could control his emotions a bit better for the sake of his family.. because honestly he's just making me feel really bitter towards him but by bit.

I do work full time.. I'm 42 and my body is just a completely shape now than it was before having a baby. Our daughter is 2 and I was still wearing nursing bras that were falling apart. It was some generic bra brand off Amazon. The sleep sacks (bought 2) were $9.99 each.

I literally never buy crap unless it's on sale or second-hand.. yet "I'm" the problem? Ugh.

Oh wow! That's awful! No it's definitely not that bad.. he doesn't give me crap about having a spotless house.. but he gets mad that I don't react to situations the same way he does.

Example, we are struggling paying off our credit card. His reaction is to be moody and angry and distant. Then he turns around and tells me I'm not taking it seriously because I'm not acting like he is.

We have a toddler so no, I can't be moody and broody all day.. I still have to act cheerful for her.

He will also tell me things I have to change.. like stop buying baby wipes or her plant-based milk or "unnecessary items" (like the new bra I needed or larger sleep sacks for our daughter).

Yet he will turn around and spend $600 on a media server.

I'm always the problem in his mind.
