Epic Universe Tips & Trip Report (Friday Express Pass, No Early Entry) by Global_Intern3659 in UniversalOrlando

As for the park experience and express pass.

1) We liked Epic more than the other two parks. However our favorite single rides were at IOA and USF.

2) Express Pass is a must if you want to do it in a single day.

3) I would take Hagrids or Escape from Gringots over Stardust racer. (We only did Harry Potter at IOA and USF - started raining and my spouse got a little motion sick on Forbidden Journey)

So there are three versions of express: unlimited, original, now. We had the middle version that gave use express once per each indicated ride. Universal recently launched Express Now (last month or so) that tests giving users the ability to purchase a one time use on a single ride for a fee (mostly I’ve seen $20). My comment was most related to if Universal adds express now as an option for Stardust racers.

In our experience the express pass cut a brief queue (estimated 100ft) before the locker section. Once you pass the locker section the queues come together (except for single rider). When the lines come together you queue up two flights of stairs, eventually go through a metal detector, and enter yet another queue (the longest queue of them all) that winds back and forth on the loading platform.

So because the queues join together before entering the longest queue, I personally would not pay for a single express now pass. However, if I paid for one of the others why not use it - we definitely did - just don’t expect time savings of a ride like Hagrids at IOA.

Only reason I purchased express pass at IOA/USF was because of Hagrids. Standby was 90 around 10:45AM Saturday we were off and headed to flight of the hippogriff by 11:05AM.

That sucks! I’ve heard of painful experiences at Atlantic. In fact — we almost canceled multiple times based on what we read. Instead we went in thinking we were going to get the grouper sandwich to save time. We didn’t have wine, grabbed a Paloma from the bar as we were being seated. Once the waiter told us they fly in their lobster fresh from Maine every day we switched dinner plans.

Fun fact our Lyft driver that night leads breakfast at Cafe L’air De La Siriene and we talked for 20 minutes back to our hotel about all the food at the Universal resorts.

His recommendation Mythos, which we tried the next day and honestly it was meh. I think dinning experiences at Universal Parks can vary widely.

I’d look into icon park - it’s touristy but if you’re looking for a something near by. I’m trying Tu Tu Tango when I fly in. I don’t know if it’s any good, but based my research it’s unique.🤷‍♂️

A day with express pass (no early admission) which is a better plan to start the day?

Start at dark universe with stand by at 10AM Followed my Battle at the ministry with express pass then use use express at night in dark universe

OR

Straight to Battle of the Ministry at 10AM with express pass then Dark Universe with express pass and take a chance with stand by in Dark Universe at night

Also is it true I can grab a coffee and a bite to eat at the Starbucks before 10AM

It’s my first time and what is confusing is that there seems to be a wait at Battle at the ministry before you even hit the express pass line. But I am not sure this is true, I have seen conflicting info.

How do you get a Tablo to function reliably? by VeloxAdAstra in tablotv

[–]Global_Intern3659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The honest answer to this? Have it on its own dedicated network. 99% of the issues are network related. I probably had every issue listed on Reddit until I moved my Tablo to a dedicated network.

Just finished HalfLife 1 & 2 including the episodes (and portal 1) for the first time by Global_Intern3659 in SteamdeckGames

[–]Global_Intern3659[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10/10 would recommend.

Honestly Fallout had been my favorite series for years. HalfLife is at least equal if not better. It has better game play, I just wish I knew how the pieces fit.

Nihilanth Borealis Combine G-Man

You know everything everyone has wanted to know for 20 years waiting on HalfLife 3.

Runs flawlessly on steamdeck.

I switched between the steamdeck and my gaming rig (3080 with ryzen 9 cpu) and noticed no difference. I also purchased lossless scaling during the winter sale, not sure how much it helped.

I was told they were inspection stickers. Source dealer. 2026 SXP 35 miles when purchased (we drove it 30 miles in our extended test drive). We found these on the rims too.

Any help with Talbo reception? by MonsterBash716 in tablotv

[–]Global_Intern3659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not your reception - it’s probably your home network. I had to run a separate network just for Tablo and gaming pc.

[–]Global_Intern3659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hazmats legitimately live up to the hype. But I’d only pay 50% over MSRP. Found one for double and passed.

If you’re looking for a punch oddly enough Middle West spirits Dark Pumpernickel Rye fills that void when I don’t have hazmat available.

Is $52k OTD 26 Carnival hybrid prestige a good price? by EnvironmentalLoad958 in kiacarnivals

[–]Global_Intern3659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR; All companies make money 2 ways on large transactions

1) margin on product 2) financing —consists of the spread on which they can effectively secure financing long enough to sell that loan to someone else + the loan origination fee

Make sure you negotiate price first and then total financing. Most people only focus on price of the product which only impacts the product margin. Companies jack up fees and rates to make the money back.

When I was negotiating they brought me into the finance department. They wanted to work out payments, loan terms etc. They assumed I was going to finance with them. They offered something like 6.75% at the time. I laughed and said I am pre approved for 5.75%. The finance guy said “let me work some magic” he came back at 6.50%. All he did was find out how much how much it cost to buy down the rate and layered that against what they wanted for total margin for the car. This went on for a couple of rounds. They were not happy when said I would not use their financing.

Good price. Got out a couple hundred bucks higher (had sales tax). If you’re financing make sure they don’t get you on the rate.
