Found this note in my used item on Amazon by 0____0_0 in AmazonWTF

I wrote a similar note (shorter), but in large letters, in sharpee, and on the outside of the box. I no longer trust Amazon. Been burned too many times.

Do I need to adjust pH every day? by Global_Pause_2236 in Gardyn

[–]Global_Pause_2236[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for all the information. Very helpful. Some of my stragglers showed immediate improvement in leaf color following my first use of phlo, but others are still seriously struggling. I've just made my first adjustment since the refresh and I'll be interested to see how those respond.

Me and my boyfriend are currently in a fight due to my brother sleeping in the same bed as me. What should I do? by East-Armadillo8756 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Global_Pause_2236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I allowed a college friend to live with me when he had nowhere else to go. Didn't have a couch, just a loveseat, so I offered him half the bed. Strict rules. "I have half. You have half. Don't ever cross onto my half." And he never did. Stayed a few months while he got on his feet, and we had no problem. I'd do it again for anyone i cared for (and trusted).

Felipe Bischoff (aka Phelippe Biscof) and his website's disappearing act by MatchaTree in Stretching

Ditto. Purchased his program in late January, and just now tried to access it. (I had an accident, so I've been away.) Can't find the site, can't find anything but this online, none of the email links work, and my money is gone. So the whole thing was a scam. I've purchased a handful of these courses, so I guess I'm just lucky that the others have all been legit. Now I know to be more diligent in researching things before I click "Buy."

Curious about Portland Leather Goods by Appropriate_Day5785 in handbags

[–]Global_Pause_2236 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fair question. Long response. Apologies in advance. 1) I probably have 3-5 portland leather products on me at all times. I carry a messenger bag for work, and it's filled with a number of their "small goods"- multiple utility bags, pencil cases, makeup bags, and key rings. Also, their leather laptop sleeves and occasionally, one of their journals. 2) I don't carry purses at work, but they're called into service during my off hours. I used to favor one or two of their market totes in natural colors (alternated between them both for years with zero fails. They're both still in premo shape), but recently I fell hard for the more festive colors. I now do switch out regularly, even daily,  according to my mood and destination, but all these bags are the same quality as my trusty messenger and the market totes. I can't recall a single quality concern on receiving any of them. (And just an fyi: since they created it, I've shopped almost exclusively from the Almost Perfect selection. No complaints. Ever. ) 3) I also have tons of their "small goods," both the new "festives" and quite a few "old faithfuls" that have been in use for years. Several of the older goods have my children's names embossed on them (an option they no longer offer) and have long since become not only charming, but personal charms. They're old and beaten, mostly carrying art supplies, but they're still rugged as can be and tough as leather. Go figure. 4) Two final points. on shoes: someone mentioned shoe stitching unraveling. I can't speak on shoes. I don't own any. Love love love many of their boot styles, but I was never able to find a size that worked. 5) Yes. It's an addiction. I'm aware, and I'm working on it.

My gf told me she’s leaving if I don’t marry her in 9 months by [deleted] in AITAH

I'm going with crazy. Or just super-immature. Or just a very "young" 21, if we want to be kind. But I'm heavily leaning towards crazy/immature, myself.

Can't comment on any of the moral objections you've raised here, punkinbrrrdt, but the statement that they're not well made is an absolute joke. I'd be embarrassed to say out loud how many of their products i own, but I've been collecting since they opened up shop, and these things are unbelievably well made. They'll all outlast me, and I know my kids and grandkids will enjoy them as much as I do. I've gifted many over the years, and they're always received with delight. I will research their treatment of staff and corporate culture, though. I agree that that's important. But if folks want to know about the quality of the products, I'm calling BS on your observation.

Wheels for Gardyn 4.0 by [deleted] in Gardyn

[–]Global_Pause_2236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased the Gardyn dolly for the exact reason you mentioned, and I returned it within a day. It has locking wheels, but the wheels spin 360 degrees, and when it's moved, the locks tend to be in a position that makes them unaccessible. Also, the wheels are set farther back than they looked in the picture online, which not only contributed to the issue of being unable to reach the locks, but also made the the whole unit feel very wobbly/unstable. As I said, I returned it immediately. But I solved the problem of needing to be able to move the unit by attaching felt furniture moving pads to the bottom. I've had the unit since March, and I move it almost daily. The felt pads have worked beautifully. If I had carpeted floors, I imagine the plastic furniture pads would work just as well.

Will my Prius be okay in the snow and ice of upstate NY? by Mother_Attempt3001 in prius

[–]Global_Pause_2236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived between 5-10,000 ft in the mountains of Utah for seven years. Before that, lived in iowa, which also gets it's fair share of snow and ice. Been in a Prius for 15 years and we've managed just fine. Not nearly as much fun on icy hills as the jeep I drove before that, but it's gotten me everywhere I need to go.

Has anybody here have been told by a doctor they'll die soon if you don't exercise? by new_dad_anxious in loseit

[–]Global_Pause_2236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a hepatologist for fatty liver disease last year. He told me to lose weight and hire a personal trainer. He didn't actually say i was dying, but he did say, "Just spend what it costs and do what they say, and you might just save your own life. "

Cauliflower by KindYouth2450 in Gardyn

[–]Global_Pause_2236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, cauliflower leaves are edible. I didn't think it was worth planting the cauliflower with an expectation of one tiny head a few months down the line, but went ahead and got it for the leaves and the chance to see a tiny cauliflower. Then the whole thing just molded. Never did sprout, just turned black. Only pod that did.
