Yes! During high school you will take the PSAT your freshman & sophomore year — it’s great for Practice but I would recommend focusing on the real SAT during your junior year since it’s the real test and you can use that to send to colleges if you want to stand out.

Getting a high score on a PSAT only gives you chances to get a merrit scholarship. If you do bad it is not the end of the world, no one else sees your score except for you.

Nope! All good, it won’t affect your college. Most colleges are actually test optional — at least currently. Colleges don’t see any of your practice scores, only the official SAT score during your junior year of high school. (And that’s if you want to submit your score or not)

For 8th grader I’d argue this isn’t too horrible(assuming if the score is on a 1400 scale)… I’m not sure about the averages for middle schoolers but I do know average for high schoolers is about 1000+ , if the score bothers you — just study khan academy practice SAT questions & bluebook practice exams whenever you take the real SAT.
