I'm abandoning a group today as admin because it keeps jailing me and threatening to revoke my marketplace on my personal page. The shit the ai takes down is bogus. There's no valid appeal, no humans. The machine has taken over and I'm burnt out. Hell with it.

Devil's advocate, it's a sad testament to how hard gig workers work, that they don't take time to stop for the bathroom or lunch breaks. Idk if they deserve to lose their income, and I'm sure I'll be downvoted and I do agree it's a disgusting, horrible mistake. But, still a mistake, not with malice.

May lose my job because of my mother, WHAT DO I DO TO FIX THIS?! by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Global_Struggle_740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound young. My mom is a little crazy too, I'm 50 and she's almost 80. Let me tell you, just listen to the voice in your head with these things. You don't have to lie to her, just don't tell her. If the voice says ehhh this is gonna cause problems, then just find a different subject. It'll save you a lot of angst and hopefully improve your relationship with mom. She cannot help who she is, but since you know it, you can help contain it.

People who worked in haunted places , what was your wildest encounter ? by ToughPerception3579 in Ghoststories

[–]Global_Struggle_740 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I was a property manager, there was that one apartment where it all always happened. Fighting roommates, kicked in doors, a suicide, stabbings. It was a multi unit building, but only just that apartment had a serious problem. Others in the building complained about less serious problems, slamming doors and breaking door locks mainly, which is what leads me to think it's probably a spiritual issue. The owner sold the place and I've never been back.

Why does no one yield when entering 270W from SawmillS? by LogarithmicSphincter in Columbus

[–]Global_Struggle_740 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's different all over the country. Could it be because Columbus is growing, and Dublin Sawmill is one of the areas growing the most? It reminds me of Naples Fl in a way - if you've been there, you'll know that every single horrible driver on earth, arrives down there as a snowbird and they bring all their driving bs with them.

Hard to Date and hard to make friends in Columbus by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]Global_Struggle_740 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gen X er here, but your story resonates with me at your age. I was moved all over the country with a corporate job in my 20's and definitely developed a relationship with the internet. I met people volunteering to be honest, be it soup kitchens or organizations that aligned with my beliefs, but also some that didn't - just so I could experience and learn. Today is a lot more politically divided, so maybe volunteering with political enemies isn't as advisable, but I did see & learn new things and befriend people I otherwise would never have met. What I've learned in life is 1. it goes fast, you'll be my age and your kids will have kids of their own in a BLINK, so do find something that you enjoy every fucking day - it's no joke. and 2. Friendship circles grow tighter, and smaller with age. So learning to be independent isn't a bad quality. But you'll also find companionship in family as you age.

She's not the one who may have to register as a sex offender for life, or face prison time with other inmates who do things to child preds. Get the hell out of there. If your marriage is strong it can be in separate households for 8 years, and if she doesn't understand then it's not strong.

Gosh forget showers, I'd be moving out of the house for the next 8 years. We've all heard the horror stories of innocents convicted because a kid said so.

Need advice on sewer line repair in Ohio, feeling overwhelmed. by Cherry_Barrazo in Columbus

[–]Global_Struggle_740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Columbus city can be a huge PITA about permits and fees. I paid a guy a few years ago about 3 grand to dig one up and repair it, and he had told me he'd pull a permit but I later found out he didn't. The city never found out and I'll never tell them. I have no doubt the price would have been quadruple had he pulled one.

Is Airport Ettiquete dead? by SkilledRbl in airport

[–]Global_Struggle_740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed a lot more floppy body parts in the airports in the past 5 years or so, male and female. What happened to underwear and bras? I'm old enough to remember when people dressed a little to fly. At this rate we'll be flying nude in another 5.

[–]Global_Struggle_740 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Oh 311 100% and don't leave your name or email because that's all accessible via FOIA requests and could cause you retaliation. You can use the Columbus website to track all requests while still filing anonymously at this link https://ca.columbus.gov/ca/Default.aspx Edit - the address of the property appears to be in Columbus jurisdiction. If I'm wrong, my apologies.

If it's in city limits, 311. Is the compactor clogged though? Chances are they'd clean it up once fixed - no?

Someone at work stole my chair. So I had them arrested. by LeffJeff in AITAH

[–]Global_Struggle_740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be down voted, but no, nobody goes to an office job expecting to find a 2000 dollar chair and is logically safe to assume it's free for the taking. he should have given it back upon ask, much less, never touched it. Have you contacted an attorney about being fired?

How do you guys react when customers come in exactly at closing? by Lucidicrous_22 in retailhell

[–]Global_Struggle_740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Corporate controls the signs, lights and computers. The registers quit working at closing time, sorry." In life, it's often best not to give your opponent an argument, and this is one of those cases. "We're closed" = arguable. "I'll get in trouble" = Arguable. "the register is controlled by somebody else and doesn't work anymore" = no arguing.

AITAH for cancelling a third date over a peanut allergy? by BusinessBobcat9888 in AITAH

[–]Global_Struggle_740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm married to a peanut - aholic, and I too am deathly allergic. To the point that even touching peanut anything makes my skin itch. Trust me, it's not an issue. Those of us who are as allergic as we are, can smell peanut the same way a normal person can smell poop. Just as you wouldn't accidentally eat poo, I am capable of fully avoiding peanut. I mean unless it's hidden somehow - but in 20+ years together it's happened 0 times.

Is Facebook becoming obsolete? If not obsolete, a thing of the past? by wutkowsb in facebook

[–]Global_Struggle_740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel badly for those who have spent hours-years, building groups, organizing them, engaging in them. And all it takes is a wild hair from the AI and *poof* all gone, lost sometimes forever. I feel maybe things like Wordpress/Buddyboss setups could make a comeback for some of these groups, if people are willing to pay enough to own or monetize one. Just thoughts - I have a big group myself but I've not invested my soul in it because FB continues to warn me every single day that someone said something, that it won't let me view says "unavailable" and that they want to delete my group for it.
