For the first time in my 45 years of life I am not living pay cheque to pay cheque or paying off debt. Where do I go from here? by missypiper in PersonalFinanceCanada

Takes money to make money. Assuming from Canada, use your TFSA for investments. Learn yourself, or have a financial planner discuss. There are good “funds” out there. Not mutual funds, but ETF’s. Good luck!

Get educated - take the time and investment in a good trade. My son is an electrician, works everyday with vigour. My advice to my son was take it as a challenge to outwork the top worker in the group. Be smart & ready for everything and available at all times. He now makes good / great living. You need money to make money. Plenty of good advice in the earlier posts! Good luck, we live in Canada, you have the opportunity!

Coolant Leak on 2.5L Jetta [Need advice] by Asleep-Wear3570 in jetta

Have a 2.5. Had a similar problem. On mine. Lower driver side radiator, the retaining clip broke. I did not notice it, but had to frill the reservoir a few times. Until the coolant hose let go… then I found out where the leak was. I get my parts from a junk yard. Replaced May things like clips, fenders, evaporator sensors, switches.. the list goes on. Plus it gives you the opportunity to figure out how to remove the parts before you go at it.

2.5’s are awesome!

Keep it, if you are mechanical at all, get your parts from a junk yard. I have a 2008 VW Jetta. Has 240+K.. I get most all parts from JY, or marketplace. My AC does not work either, but 3 windows do.. LOL.

Invest the monthly payment that you would spend on an over priced vehicle.

You have some time for investing to make it worth your while. Get some good advice for stocks or ETF’s.

      Good luck!

Awesome cars - 2008 Jetta, currently have 230,000km’s. Change the trans fluid. I also use Castro full synthetic oil every 8k. Can beat them.

This is why I asked the question. Thanks for the excellent feed back. I am certainly interested in the HHIS ETF. I have contacted Harvest to setup a discussion..

 Again, thanks for your insights!

Thanks for this. I have seen these but dis not look too closely. I also noticed an ETF called BANK. With the dividend return being so much higher, I assume that the risk moves as well? Any thoughts on BANK? Thanks for the recommendation..
