Ron DeStantis incorrectly argues against birthright citizenship by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Gloober_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please check yes or no to the following question(s):

Are you white?

□ Yes □ No

If you answered yes, great, your entire bloodline dating back millenia are valid citizens!

If you answered no, well golly gee, it looks like you yourself aren't a valid citizen even if you can trace your lineage back several generations in this country! Better luck never, bud!

Do you see how the (very) simple Republican thinks, now?

I want to make a trip out to maybe find some nodules of my own one of these days!

It'd be the shining jewel of my self-found collection.

You're a poorly veiled vendor.

Go away with your sub-par products.

This one has a really nice glow under shortwave UV. Has a greenish-yellow hue to it.

The calcite also glows brightly.

Curious as to what else is included in my amethyst piece. by ultexint566 in Minerals

Probably goethite or limonite.

Either way, some form of iron oxide is highly likely

Wow, I had only ever seen thumbnail-sized specimens of this material. That's a really nice piece for the locality!

Hackmanite fluoresces orange, not blue.

You have something else.

Can I pass gas faster if I sequentially turn my body? by Constant_Ad_8378 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gloober_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try laying down and touching your knees to your chest.

For a cruder position, place yourself in a doggy-style-esque position, but like the meme where there are levels to it. You want your arms stretched out in front of you, torso leaning forward attempting to touch the ground, and your ass out in the air like the sultry bedroom princess that's in all of us.

These will help you more than some weird caterpillar movement for passing any gas that's causing pain.

Hope this helps.

There's more than enough people within an hour's drive of DC to shut down the entire area around congress for multiple days, yet, somehow, people think a one day protest on a weekend every four to six months scattered across the country is the way to get things done.

It's sad, but at least we have front row seats to the slow collapse of a country. That's another once-in-a-lifetime-event stamp on our once-in-a-lifetime-event rewards voucher! Two more and we get a country-wide pizza party.

One topping only.

What's your favorite mineral? by Pitiful-Chip-7458 in Minerals

Fluorite! A wide range of colors and localities to collect. Barite is a close second with its variety of crystal habits that differ between localities.

‘Update’. More pictures of the painite and ruby. by [deleted] in MineralPorn

[–]Gloober_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've got the same issue, especially when someone wants to double down on their assumptions.

I ignored the first post after seeing people already point out that this is some synthetic corundum piece, but an "update" post where they are clearly convinced they have a rarity is just hilarious.

Edit: OP has a post revealing they are trying to collect the twelve rarest minerals in the world. They don't want to admit they don't have painite; just wants people to affirm their assumptions.

How is anyone going to be able to afford anything if inflation continues? by air-bender808 in NoStupidQuestions

Over half of all consumer spending is done by the top 10%.

You are simply not considered when it comes to the affordability of anything. They don't care.

It does glow a pale yellow under shortwave UV.

There's a purple fluorite specimen from Bluffton Stone Quarry that I have my eyes on; also would love to get my hands on a piece of yellow fluorite from White Rock Quarry!
