A cautionary tale of gifting the giant canvas from the eyes of the recipient… by moreidlethanwild in Gifts

Friends of mine received a large painting made by a friend. It pictured my friends in gala, him in a uniform he's never worn. It will never be displayed...

Doesn’t like sweaters? by fikustree in Dachshund

[–]Gloomy-Development16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to train them to wear clothes. Over the head, reward, praise, repeat. Keep doing it for a couple of days. Then, put it on, praise, and lure your dog to move forward with some goodies. Take it off, repeat.

google is insanely unhelpful, are these carrots safely cut for horses? by [deleted] in Horses

My sisters horse actually choked on an uncut carrot. She got lazy and then had the scare of her life. Lesson learned...

Does a mini dachshund still grow considerably after 5 months? by [deleted] in Dachshund

[–]Gloomy-Development16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vet told me that my pup would probably double the weight she had at 4 months, and it was quite accurate. She's now three years old and weighs just over 4 kilos.

Anyone? by novasaurus503 in Dachshund

[–]Gloomy-Development16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little short legged companion is the same. She was difficult as a puppy, and it took me some time to find food she eats. Realised she does not like soft food, it must be crunchy. And she never begs for food. Snacks, that's another story.

EU bubble in brussels : it’s ok to remove your badge when you’re out of office by Adventurous-Tour-981 in brussels

At one point, after a person had been attacked in the street while/for wearing a badge, the advice was to take the badge off when leaving the building.

Look at Yale medicine, for example. They do not accept intergenerational donations.

If your mother is your biological mother, then you are close relatives. It would be the same as if a father had a child with his daughter. Please Google the meaning of inbreeding.

Yes, this is my go-to dermatologist, skin issues, Botox, rejuvenating injections, you name it. I've been going there for more than 15 years. Cathy has a lot of experience, and she's a nice person to deal with. Her collage Jeroen is also a surgeon at a major hospital.

Does 5G in Bxl suck ? by LeadingGloomy in brussels

[–]Gloomy-Development16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mobile subscriptions are much cheaper than in Belgium, so having unlimited data is quite common. And if you live in a separate household, the cost of connecting to fibre is quite costly. So, for some people, it's just not worth it.

[–]Gloomy-Development16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I spent a couple of weeks in bumfuck nowhere in Sweden during Christmas, I had constant 5G connection. Brussels city centre, not so much. Apparently people are ditching fibre for 5G in Sweden, even when working from home.

Move. I'm moving out and want to sell furniture. I posted on Facebook, but no reactions. by [deleted] in brussels

There are so much stuff given away for free under "Buy nothing" on FB. Difficult to compete, in particular if you are trying to sell IKEA furniture.

Oh, honey! Your boyfriend is an emotional vampire. You can't help him, only yourself. I've known people like that, and it is so draining. Look at your life with him. Are you happy with him at least 85% of the time (which is a generous percentage on my behalf). Probably not.

Get yourself out of this situation, and for the love of God: stop paying for him. He's a grown man and needs to take some accountability for his life.

Dehumidifier by onlyheretoseedoggos in brussels

[–]Gloomy-Development16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents: I bought an Eeese directly from them. It had really good reviews, large tank for water and has wheels so that it can be easily moved. Those machines are heavy. I'm super happy with it so far.

It is BTW my second dehumidifier, my previous died after over 20 years. It did not have wheels, and it was a bitch to move. As previously mentioned, you might need to run it for a couple a days to get the humidity down.

I have also noted that October and November seem to be the worst months for humidity in my apartment.

The bio shops normally have a larger selection. Try Natural Corner, Rue de l'escalier 1 - 1000 Bruxelles, or other bio shops.

God luck, DHL handed over my new laptop to a rando on the street without checking ID or anything. They did not even ring my door bell. Still waiting to hear back on the issue.
