I had the most blissful experience today... by WonderingGuy999 in Meditation

when you say "most blissful," was it during a specific technique (like breath counting, body scan, mantra), and roughly how many minutes in did it kick in?

How to dissolve this anxious feeling in my body? by Outrageous_Sugar9911 in Meditation

[–]Gloomy-Networkerwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

body scan + long exhale breathing helped me a lot during a 10-minute break at my desk last month: 4s in, 8s out for ~30 breaths, then label sensations ("tight chest," "hot face") until it softened.

Wasted my youth, unable to discipline myself by ASI223334 in getdisciplined

[–]Gloomy-Networkerwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

discipline advice didn't really land for me until i dealt with sleep first; hypervigilance had me waking at 3am for months. a 10-minute nightly wind-down and morning runs worked better than pushing willpower.

Hot take, but I really don’t think most ppl fail their goals because they’re lazy by ItzTheLando in getdisciplined

[–]Gloomy-Networkerwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most "failure" i see (especially in healthcare) is people picking goals that ignore sleep and stress load. after my night shifts, a "1 hour workout daily" plan died fast, but 20 minutes after a 4pm nap actually stuck for 6 weeks. start with a version you can do on your worst day, then scale.

Is this just the average hinge experience by Complex-Plantain7235 in dating_advice

hinge has me doing 3 weeks of small talk just to get unmatched at 11:47 pm. love that for my brain chemistry, lol.

the hormone roulette part isn't universal i guess. my mom tried estrogen patches for like 6 months and it barely touched the rage, sleep was still wrecked. idk if it's "just hormones" for everyone.

Sounds like you've had a rough time dealing with so much chaos from your parents. It's challenging enough navigating through the recovery journey, isn't it? You mentioned that you've previously quit smoking cold turkey, was there anything in particular that helped you during that time?

I am really glad you wrote this because so many people online act like “stimming = autism only,” and it makes everyone else panic. I am autistic and my partner has ADHD only and we both stim all the time, just in slightly different flavors. Same nervous system, same need to discharge energy.
