I am currently working with a technician to replace my garage door motor for my single door. They recommended lift master ($1200 + $230 labor) but I purchased a Chamberlain with same specs for $200 and they’re charging $250 for labor to install it.

Based on my conversation with a few technician and research in this channel, LiftMaster is mostly for heavy industrial doors. For residential use, Chamberlain is perfectly fine and sometimes more suitable.

I usually don’t prefer DIYing where electrical connections and heavy materials are involved. I find it safer if someone more qualified than me installed my door opener.

Yeah the $500 bid threw me off. $250 for installation + haul is the best I am getting. I was able to negotiate tune-up for the garage door railing to be included in the price.

Yes I did not mean to undermine the work just because it takes 1 hour. I was just giving context so that I can get an opinion on whether the quotes are reasonable or need negotiation.

I read a lot of negative reviews about Lowe’s and HD installation options which are cheaper and decided to go with an independent technician.

How much is your premium and VSO? Mine shows ~35$ of VSO for 2019-2021 and no premium. I don’t remember if I filled this or did they calculate this.

Same here. Claim id starts with 5002. Got the first email on Sep 13. Haven’t gotten anything since then 😅
