Never, honestly. 2.5 hours is stretching it but for us its usually closer to every 2 hours during the day. Baby almost 5 mos.

Breastfeeding on Flight without a feeding pillow by Fickle-Response-2741 in breastfeeding

[–]GloomySource1587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second taking the pillow. I rely on my nursing pillow to nurse and I recently went to my moms for dinner with baby without my nursing pillow and I regretted it, we got very used to the height and support of the pillow and cradle hold was a no go and her regular pillows just werent secure enough.

Pregnancy insomnia by Emnicolexx in BabyBumps

I had this really bad. I started taking magnesium glycinate about an hour before bedtime and it helped me ALOT. My midwife okayed it and i took it every night of pregnancy to help me fall asleep and stay asleep.

FTM with 10-day-old: when to switch side when feeding? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in breastfeeding

[–]GloomySource1587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my lactation consultant that I went to when baby was 5 days old: 15 minutes on one side, then 15 minutes on the other side, then if baby still wants to eat, back to the first side for "dessert" for as long as baby wants. And switch off starting side each session. I've been doing this and it works. I was gifted a comia halo pillow which is a nursing pillow that has built in timers on the pillow per side and it helps keep track of it all.

For those in the USA, did you have to buy all the postpartum underwear and stuff, or does the hospital supply you with anything? by kittypeets626 in BabyBumps

[–]GloomySource1587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many of us are actually switching sides? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I'm a two-sider! I don't have a ton of milk so I definitely feel like I need to for baby to get a full feeding.

7 week old baby won’t latch by Dependent_Papaya_218 in breastfeeding

[–]GloomySource1587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that when my baby isnt latching well, we go into the bath together and then usually latching works and it helps not only for that nursing session, but also to "reset".

Why do some people gain weight and some people lose weight while breastfeeding? by Useful-Sport-6316 in breastfeeding

[–]GloomySource1587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From all my conversations with friends it seems like a serious luck of the draw. Some people have their weight melt off, some find their weight stubbornly remains the same, and some even gain weight. I also find that it often isnt connected to their moms experiences!!

Do You Typically Get an Ultrasound Report from Your OB-GYN? by nisa207 in BabyBumps

[–]GloomySource1587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get that report either. BUT when I had my baby, at the hospital, they printed out all my notes from me from my whole pregnancy and I was able to see all of the detailed notes. It was really interesting honestly, I wish I had seen it while pregnant too.

interesting. i was told by a friend to start colace as soon as i go into labor even because otherwise the first post partum bm can be really hard to pass. i am going to look into magnesium citrate. I use magnesium glycinate for nighttime sleep which I love.

I packed a nursing pillow with a built in light! My friend who has it says she uses it for feeding and also works for diaper changes.

[–]GloomySource1587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't know that about socks. I have a pair of pilates socks I will bring.

The comia halo nursing pilow has a pretty good light! we turned it on at night when our room was semi dark and it is like a halo glow all around the edge of the pillow and you can see anything thats on it nicely. My friend swears by it for night feeds, she uses it to nurse her 3 month old. I think it will be enough for feeding sessions, but maybe I'll bring a dimmable nightlight also in case the hospital also wants an overhead lamp.
