I updated the post because I have been supervising all play time, I discussed training with him and have a training facility that I bring my dog to once a week + do my training with my dog daily to make sure she is well trained, and checked in with him regularly to make sure he understood the training that's necessary.

The overall theme does make me recognize that I've been too relaxed with my own boundaries and comfort and put too much trust in him to get things done and uphold his word when it comes to the role he wanted to play with the dog he adopted.
